Spokesman for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a documentary film entitled “What Took Place at the Forum,” which reviewed the most prominent discussions and ideas put forward during the forum's sessions. President El-Sisi also greeted Mahmoud Mohamed, a young man of determination with a hearing disability who had expressed his interest to meet the President during the film screened at the opening session. The President further greeted Talia, the young girl who had performed in the opening choir performance. Following this, the Prime Minister delivered a presentation that began with a chronological overview of the most significant developments witnessed by the state between 2011 and 2014. He then presented an interactive map highlighting the projects implemented and achievements accomplished between 2014 and 2026. At the conclusion of his presentation, the Prime Minister presented President El-Sisi with a book documenting the state's achievements over the course of twelve years. The second part of the ceremony featured a presentation entitled “The Journey,” which traced the country's state-building process and highlighted the development projects completed across various sectors. This was followed by a presentation delivered by an economic influencer, addressing the challenges facing the energy sector in light of recent regional crises and their economic repercussions. Three young influencers then reviewed, each within their respective field of specialization, the most notable achievements accomplished over the past several years. This was followed by a film entitled “The Generation's Dream,” featuring a number of children from Generation Alpha, all under the age of thirteen. Through the film, they spoke about their aspirations and dreams for the future, as well as their vision of the Egypt they hope to see in the coming years. Subsequently, the Prime Minister announced the outcomes of the proceedings of Egypt Forum 2026. President El-Sisi then invited Dr. Mohamed Shaker, the former Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, to present an overview of the achievements made in the energy sector during a critical period and within a remarkably short timeframe. These achievements helped save Egypt from an energy crisis. Dr. Shaker highlighted the pivotal role played personally by President El-Sisi, both in securing the best possible prices from international companies and in rescuing Egypt from the persistent electricity crisis that the country had been experiencing. Success stories of some of Egypt's outstanding talents who had achieved international recognition in various fields were presented during the ceremony, after which a commemorative photograph was taken with the President. Following this, President El-Sisi delivered a speech. Recorded the morning after the fifth annual Fredericksburg meetup, the episode tackles a packed slate of global unrest and domestic strangeness, from burning French city halls to Elon Musk's hopping Roadster. With John C. Dvorak's absence still shaping the program, Curry and Dew deliver the trademark media deconstruction that has defined the show for 19 years. The two-hosts spend the opening segment on the escalating protests across France, where interior minister Laurent Nunez reported crowds swelling to 800,000 and Marine Le Pen's poll numbers continue climbing against a backdrop of debt projected near 120% of GDP. Threads explored include: How protesters are coordinating via Bluetooth mesh apps like BitChat after internet shutdowns AfD leader Alice Weidel's call to end German financing of 'an already lost war' in Ukraine Queen Ursula von der Leyen's new 70 billion euro Ukraine funding gap for 2027 The Nord Stream sabotage trial of Ukrainian suspect Sergei Kuznetsov in Hamburg Curry questions why the International Criminal Court has stayed silent on the Nord Stream prosecution, while Dew notes the political convenience of keeping the accused agent from speaking. The hosts replay a Christopher Hitchens clip framing the broader civilizational stakes: They are not just joking. They really mean to abolish everything you care about, and they want to take away everything you love and to destroy everything you have and to replace it with a Stone Age ideology derived from the desert of Palestine in a very bad time in human history. The segment pivots to a Tom Luongo thesis that European elites are deliberately bankrupting the bloc to roll out the digital euro. Elsewhere, the episode unpacks an AI-driven study flagging roughly 261,000 potentially fabricated cancer research papers, with 36% traced to Chinese institutions and 20% to Iran. Dew brings a deep dive on Turin, Italy, its black magic triangle, ley lines to London and San Francisco, and the 1879 Lucifer statue atop the Frejus tunnel monument. Curry breaks down CoreWeave's 2032 bonds trading at distressed 15% yields, warning the AI buildout could trigger a broader bond market crack. Other threads: Tesla's thruster-equipped Roadster demo, Press Secretary Katie Zachariah's five-day White House tenure, Jalen Hurts' blood clot diagnosis, and viral video evidence that Arby's roast beef now arrives as a bagged paste. About No Agenda Show No Agenda is a long-running, listener-supported podcast hosted by Adam Curry and John C. Dvorak that takes a skeptical, independent look at mainstream media, politics, culture, and the forces shaping the daily news cycle. Known for its sharp commentary, humor, and media deconstruction approach, the show offers an irreverent alternative to conventional news analysis. Episode 1913 is available now wherever podcasts are heard. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— 5 Best Free Competitor Instagram Ad Spy Tools in 2026 Ranked In New Report 2026-10-24 · MarketersMEDIA · Marketing & advertising, Internet & apps https://news.marketersmedia.com/5-best-free-competitor-instagram-ad-spy-tools-in-2026-ranked-in-new-report/89207226 A new report compares five tools for researching Instagram advertising, assessing their free access options, competitor research capabilities and creative features to help marketers choose tools suited to their budgets and campaign workflows. -- A new report examining the best free Instagram ad spy tools in 2026 compares five platforms that help marketers research competitor campaigns, identify creative trends and in ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— PatientGain Launches ReputeMD: A HIPAA-Compliant Online Reputation Management Service for Doctors and Dentists 2026-10-24 · MarketersMEDIA · Healthcare, Marketing & advertising https://news.marketersmedia.com/patientgain-launches-reputemd-a-hipaa-compliant-online-reputation-management-service-for-doctors-and-dentists/89207148 The HIPAA-compliant full-service reputation management app is designed for doctors, dentists, and healthcare clinics wanting to streamline patient reviews. -- PatientGain, a leading provider of HIPAA-compliant healthcare marketing solutions, has officially launched ReputeMD. In the series. Six distinguished academics tackle four different aspects of doing business internationally – from family businesses to digital platforms to law and marketing. Critical Decisions The authors examine critical issues around succession, continuity and inheritance – issues which every family business will eventually face. Through detailed research the authors provide original insights and lessons. Anyone playing a key role in a family-owned business will benefit from reading this insightful book. The authors: “The reason why the development of family businesses is bumpy and the succession issues are complicated and difficult is that family businesses… involve not only the logic of business and economic operations, but also multiple social and cultural relationships.” Platform Governance In a world where our existence is largely platform-based – from shopping on Amazon to socializing on Facebook – understanding the mechanisms governing these digital habitats is paramount. This authoritative guide takes you from the origins of these platforms to the strategic shift required to move from a traditional product strategy to a winning platform strategy.  It offers vital insights and guidance for understanding and succeeding in today’s digital economy, helping readers navigate the complexities of an increasingly platform-based economy. Think Big Using legal thinking, Han Liu looks at how to analyse situations, balance competing interests and make good decisions – both in business and more broadly in life and everyday situations. This book will empower readers to think critically and strategically. It will help shift mindsets from simply following rules to understanding the deep, strategic logic behind them. It's a journey that will sharpen minds, helping to make better, more informed choices. “If you’re worried about legal jargon, don’t be. This book explains legal thinking in everyday language.” – Han Liu, from the foreword Wellbeing Marketing Examines transformative philosophy to benefit customers and employees. When maximising profit has often become a demon justifying deceptive tactics, exploited workers and unhappy customers, Wellbeing Marketing emerges as a new way of thinking. Through fascinating case studies of global giants like Disneyland and Walmart, alongside unique enterprises like Nakagawa Masashichi Heirloom Store, Fei Li demonstrates that profit and happiness are not mutually exclusive; rather, when an organization aligns its mission with the pursuit of wellbeing, it achieves a sustainable "unity of knowledge and action" that benefits society. About the series authors: Dr Hao Gao is Director of the Research Centre for Global Family Business at Tsinghua University, China. Dr Victor Zheng is Director of the Centre for Social and Political Development Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Novomins has made its first move into out-of-home (OOH) advertising with Put Women’s Health in the Driver’s Seat, a London taxi activation designed to put women’s health in the spotlight. On Wednesday 21 October, North-East personality and Novomins women’s health ambassador Vicky Pattison took to central London in a fully branded Novomins taxi, offering women free rides and opening up conversations about the health concerns that affect them. The activation focused on issues women may find difficult to discuss, or feel have been dismissed as ‘normal’. By taking these conversations into everyday public spaces, Novomins aimed to give women the opportunity to speak openly about their experiences and feel heard. The taxi featured Novomins’ distinctive pink branding, product imagery and the message, “Whatever your health goals, we have a gummy for it!”. While the creative brought the brand into view across London, the campaign’s central purpose was to encourage more open conversations about women’s health. Valerie Stark McQuillan, Formulator, Neuroscientist and Chief Marketing Officer at Novomins, said: “Too many women are still being told their symptoms are ‘normal’, or waiting years for a diagnosis, simply because no one stopped to really listen. ‘Put Women’s Health in the Driver’s Seat’ is about changing that. Vicky brings honesty and warmth to every conversation, and by giving women a lift across London, we’re giving them space to talk about the things that bother them, the things that get brushed aside, and the things they’ve never felt able to say out loud. At Novomins, women’s health isn’t a side project; it’s a serious focus. As a formulator and neuroscientist, I know how much daily nutrition can matter, which is why together with our in-house team of experts I created a dedicated range of gummy vitamins for women. Whether a woman is looking after her urinary health, supporting herself through her monthly cycle, or caring for her intimate balance, we want to be part of that everyday support. But this campaign is about more than products. We’re here to educate, to listen and to give women a voice.” The campaign marks Novomins’ first-ever OOH brief, with Loud! OOH appointed to bring the activation to life. It shows how outdoor advertising can create a physical platform for conversations that deserve greater attention, rather than simply putting a brand in front of an audience. The release follows the news that Loud! OOH has been shortlisted for ‘New Agency to Watch’ at the Prolific North Marketing Awards 2026, a milestone for the independent advertising agency as it continues to build its presence in the UK out-of-home market. Through the activation, Novomins has used its OOH debut to take its women’s health message directly to the streets, with a clear commitment to listening, education and giving women a voice. For brands looking to explore taxi advertising as part of their own campaigns, Loud! OOH has put together a guide to taxi advertising in the UK, covering formats, costs and opportunities. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— 3,814-Acre Kronkosky Natural Area Targets Late Fall 2026 Opening Between Boerne and Bandera 2026-10-23 · Newsworthy.ai · AI, SaaS, Government & policy, Nonprofits, Marketing & advertising, Internet & apps, Construction & engineering https://newsworthy.ai/news/202610233078/3814-acre-kronkosky-natural-area-targets-late-fall-2026-opening-between-boerne-and-bandera Pipe Creek, TX Friday Oct 23, 2026 @ 10:20 AM Central — The Building Texas Show's latest episode, New Texas State Park Near Boerne: Why It Isn't a Park | ABK, hosted by Justin McKenzie and published October 21, 2026, delivers an on-the-ground preview of the Albert & Bessie Kronkosky State Natural Area (ABK), the 3,814-acre site straddling Bandera County and Kendall County along Highway 46 between Boerne and Bandera. New site superintendent Stephanie Kwiatkowski, who stepped into the role in June, explains why Texas Parks and Wildlife is targeting late fall 2026 to open the gates, and why the agency classified ABK as a state natural area rather than a state park. The conversation is a return visit for the show, which previously hosted founding superintendent James Rice while the land was still in survey and planning. Kwiatkowski walks listeners through several specific threads: The legal and operational distinction between a state park and a state natural area under the Texas Admin Code, with comparisons to Government Canyon, Lost Maples, Inks Lake, and McKinney Falls. The 28 miles of multi-use trail open to hikers, mountain bikers, joggers, and strollers. Operational lessons from the July 2026 flooding event, which washed out landscaping, trails, and campsites before any public visitation. Kwiatkowski frames the park-versus-natural-area question as a spectrum between recreation and conservation, and she is candid about the stakes of protecting the ABK viewshed. Standing in a UTV above the canyons during her first weeks on site, she described the moment this way: "The site owns both sides of those canyons. And so that view, that viewshed, it is safeguarded for, um, forever." She also credits the volunteer corps assembled by James Rice, a former biologist, calling the relationships "integral to our success as a site." The episode digs into the ecological specifics that justify ABK's protective designation: bigtooth maples that rival those at Lost Maples State Natural Area, the riparian corridors along Red Bluff Creek and Pipe Creek, and the transition zones between ash juniper woodlands and creek bottoms. Kwiatkowski traces her own path from a childhood of camping in a pop-up trailer, through an environmental science degree with a minor in environmental sociology, GIS and consulting work, a formative seasonal job with the City of New Braunfels parks, the park operations trainee role at the Lost Pines Complex (Bastrop and Buescher State Parks), and an assistant superintendent stint at Pedernales Falls State Park before her June promotion. Construction crews, subcontractors, and a six-person site team are now preparing cabins, screened shelters, tent sites, backcountry camping, and hike-and-bike infrastructure for public access. About The Building Texas Show The Building Texas Show, hosted by Justin McKenzie, spotlights the people, places, and projects shaping Texas communities, from Hill Country conservation to small-business entrepreneurship. New episodes publish weekly across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, with sponsorship support from Chisos Boots. Programmes are offered in Gauteng, South Africa, with bookings opening in January 2027. The launch addresses a common yet often unmeasured issue in South African organizations: misaligned leadership leading to strain throughout the company. Decision-making slows, strategies falter in execution, and board-level tension affects company culture and performance. "When an executive team is pulling in different directions, everything below it feels the strain, " said Tony Dovale, CEO, Life Masters.  "We built the Leadership Alignment Accelerator so management, executive and board teams can see clearly where they are out of step and work through it together. Starting with talks and board interview meetings lets us meet each team where it actually is." What the Accelerator is Life Masters' Accelerator integrates leadership team diagnostics with guided sessions. These diagnostics reveal fractures within the team and highlight misalignments among members concerning priorities, decision rights, trust, and communication. The facilitated sessions then work through those gaps with the whole team together, rather than with leaders one by one. The result is a shared, tested understanding of what the team is there to achieve and how it will make decisions, resolve conflict and hold each other to account. Who it is for The Accelerator is designed for management teams, executive teams and boards, particularly where: Decisions are slow or repeatedly reopened Strategy execution has stalled There is tension or distrust at board or exco level Leaders are pulling in different directions or working to competing priorities A new CEO, merger or restructure has left the leadership team unaligned How engagements work Each engagement is tailored to meet the specific outcomes desired by the client. Some run as a two-day leadership retreat. Others run as multi-month alignment and optimisation projects. The format depends on the organisation’s structure, locations, number of participants and the depth of process needed to resolve the fractureLeadership teams face mounting pressure to adapt swiftly amidst technological shifts, economic unpredictability, and evolving stakeholder demands. Without internal alignment, leading change becomes a formidable challenge. Life Masters' solutions are designed to address these challenges effectively.ns. A team that cannot align internally cannot lead changLeadership teams often fail not due to lack of talent but because they drift apart without measurement or resolution.rs. Where it fits The Accelerator is part of the Revolutionary Workplace® HPO Labs System and High Performance Teams experience. It extends Life Masters’ work on psychological safety, trust, collaboration and communication to the top of the organisation, where leadership teams are divided and need a structured way to work through the issues. Teams can move from the Accelerator into deeper work, including the High Performance Team Sprint, Execution Accelerator, Culture Reset or Executive Strategy Facilitation. Frequently asked questions What is leadership alignment? A leadership team is aligned when its members share priorities, decide and communicate consistently, and support decisions once made. The integration process began with the acquisition of Kingfluencers in March 2025 and concludes at the end of October with the move to a shared office in Zurich. Since the acquisition, the two companies have gradually integrated their organizational structures and operations. Shared functions have been established, particularly in Finance, Commercial and People. Most recently, joint growth initiatives have also been launched, combining the naoo platform with Kingfluencers’ creator network, client relationships and commercial capabilities. At the end of October, the operational teams of naoo and Kingfluencers will move into shared offices at Molkenstrasse 15, directly next to Zurich’s historic Helvetiaplatz, close to the Volkshaus and Europaallee. This physical consolidation marks the visible completion of the integration process. naoo AG’s registered headquarters will remain in Zug. With the integration now complete, Gregor Doser has decided to hand over his operational responsibilities to the existing leadership team and step down from the management teams of both naoo AG and Kingfluencers AG. Gregor Doser and naoo are currently discussing a potential future strategic advisory role. Doser joined the Group in May 2025, shortly after the acquisition of Kingfluencers, and has since served as Chief Commercial Officer and Managing Director of Kingfluencers, as well as a member of the Executive Management of naoo AG. In this role, he played a key part in the commercial development of Kingfluencers and, in particular, in integrating the company into the naoo Group. “Gregor has guided the integration process with great care and strategic clarity, making a significant contribution to bringing Kingfluencers and naoo together. We sincerely thank him for his tremendous commitment and the smooth handover to the operational team, and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career,” says Thomas Wolfensberger, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kingfluencers AG and Founder & Strategic Advisor of naoo AG. Gregor Doser adds: “With the teams and business areas now successfully integrated, I believe this is the right time to hand over operational leadership to the well-established management team. I am proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to following the Group’s continued development.” Gabriel Höhener will also step down from the Executive Management of naoo AG. As part of the organization’s ongoing development, product responsibilities have been consolidated under Dr. David Liu. Gabriel Höhener has been with naoo since 2022 and most recently served as Chief Product & Technology Officer and a member of Executive Management. In this role, he was responsible for technical product development and made a substantial contribution to building and advancing the naoo platform. During a formative phase of the company’s development, he established important foundations for today’s product and played a key role in shaping its evolution. naoo thanks Gabriel Höhener for his outstanding personal commitment, his important contribution to building the platform and the many years of collaboration. With the integration complete, the naoo Group is increasingly focusing on scaling its joint growth initiatives and strategically expanding the naoo platform. A key priority is the expansion of naoo Play, its entertainment and streaming offering, which aims to attract additional audiences and increase user engagement through new digital entertainment formats, particularly Vertical Short Dramas. In parallel, the existing social media, community and gamification features, as well as naoo Worlds, will continue to be developed. Kingfluencers’ extensive creator network, client relationships and marketing expertise provide valuable synergies to expand the platform’s reach, unlock new monetization opportunities and drive growth across both companies. About naoo naoo AG is building the future of creator-led media, social interaction and local activation in a business model designed to connect digital attention with measurable real-world outcomes. At the core of the Group stands the naoo platform – a next-generation social media and activation ecosystem that connects digital attention with geographic relevance and merchant interaction. Stats SA is central to evidence-based planning and policymaking, committee members said, providing the information required for monitoring economic growth, employment, poverty, governance and service delivery. Nonetheless, the committee raised concerned about Stats SA’s 23% vacancy rate, with some programmes recording significantly higher vacancy levels. For example, the South African National Statistics System programme reported a vacancy rate of 43.8%, raising concerns about long-term sustainability and institutional capacity. The committee also noted weaknesses in consequence management at Stats SA and raised concerns about the slow progress in investigating accumulated irregular expenditure of approximately R851 million and fruitless and wasteful expenditure of R14 million. During deliberations, committee members highlighted concerns around asset management, including the safeguarding of electronic devices used during census operations. The committee questioned whether sufficient preventative measures had been implemented to recover stolen devices and reduce the likelihood of similar incidents occurring in the future. The committee recognised that Stats SA successfully averted a major cyberattack but emphasised that additional investments in cybersecurity, ICT infrastructure and digital systems are required to safeguard critical data and modernise the organisation’s operations. While Stats SA spent 99.3% of its allocated budget, the committee noted that the organisation continues to face severe financial and operational constraints. Members called for a comprehensive recruitment and retention strategy to address scarce skills shortages and ensure that Stats SA remains capable of delivering high-quality statistical products and services. The committee welcomed Brand South Africa’s fourth consecutive clean audit. Members acknowledged the entity’s efforts to enhance South Africa’s international profile through platforms such as the G20 Presidency, the World Economic Forum and investment promotion engagements. The committee noted that Brand SA spent approximately R263.5 million against a budget of R235.2 million, representing expenditure of about 112% of its available budget. However, Brand SA achieved only 82% of its performance targets. Members questioned the relationship between expenditure and outcomes and called for stronger evidence demonstrating value for money and measurable impact. They were also concerned about Brand SA’s vacancy rate of approximately 28%, including vacancies in finance and other critical positions. Members noted that Brand SA’s structure has not been reviewed since 2014, despite changes in the communications environment and its expanding responsibilities. The committee also voiced its concern about the absence of a fully functional internal audit unit. Members warned that this presents risks to governance, financial management, operations and risk management. The committee further raised concerns about fruitless and wasteful expenditure amounting to R5.35 million and irregular expenditure relating to work performed without a valid contract. Members called for stronger consequence management, contract management and accountability mechanisms. The committee also questioned inconsistencies identified between Brand SA’s annual report, presentations and supporting documentation. Members noted discrepancies in some rankings, indicators and calculations presented to Parliament and called for improved quality assurance and verification processes. Members of the committee questioned the effectiveness of Brand SA’s efforts to counter negative international narratives, misinformation and geopolitical tensions that may affect South Africa’s reputation globally. Members requested evidence demonstrating how these interventions have protected and enhanced South Africa’s image and investment attractiveness. The committee also asked for clarity on discussions about the possibility of consolidating Brand SA with other government marketing entities and requested further information on the sustainability of its partnership-funding model and multilateral partnerships. As part of its recommendations, the committee directed the DPME, Stats SA and Brand SA to submit corrective action plans addressing governance shortcomings, audit findings, vacancies, institutional risks and performance weaknesses. The committee also called for regular reporting to Parliament on progress in implementing the committee’s recommendations. Committee Chairperson Ms Teliswa Mgweba said the committee will continue to closely monitor progress. “Parliament’s oversight responsibility goes beyond expenditure tracking and target reporting. Our focus is to ensure that public resources result in measurable outcomes, stronger institutions and meaningful improvements in the lives of South Africans. Accountability, consequence management and effective implementation remain critical to achieving these objectives,” said Ms Mgweba. It puts one simple question to players: how much did you really notice? Players step into a room for just 20 seconds. Then the room disappears,  and six quick questions ask what they actually saw. A new room opens every day at midnight Eastern, and the game is free to play now at memoryroomgame.com.  The idea is easy to grasp and surprisingly hard to master. The clock starts the moment a player opens the door, and anything in the room might matter - the color of a lamp, the time on a clock, the number of books on a shelf. Some rooms add video and sound, so players have to listen as well as look.  "We walk through rooms all day long and assume we're taking it all in," said Mark L Fox, founder of Resona Health and author of The Memory Room. "Then someone asks a simple question about what was on the table, and you realize you have no idea. Memory Room turns that moment into a game. It takes about a minute, it's a little humbling, and most people want to come back tomorrow to do better."  How it works  Look: Open the door and study the room for 20 seconds.  Answer: The room vanishes and six multiple-choice questions test what you noticed. Compare: Once enough people have played, see how everyone else answered the same room.  Come back: A brand-new room arrives every day at midnight Eastern. Track your streak and personal best, and challenge friends with a shareable link.  First-timers can warm up in a practice room that doesn't count toward their score. The game runs in any web browser on a phone, tablet or computer - there is nothing to download and no account is required to play.  The game takes its name from Fox's book The Memory Room, an Amazon #1 Bestselling Book and #1 Hot New Release that ranked #1 in Brain Diseases, Nursing Home Care and Medical eBooks. The book is available free to readers, and the game carries forward its theme: the moments and details we hold onto, and the ones that slip past us.  Memory Room is designed for anyone 13 and older who enjoys a quick daily challenge, from puzzle fans who already have a morning game routine to families looking for something to play and compare together.  Availability  Memory Room is free and available now at memoryroomgame.com.  About Resona Health  Resona Health is a wellness technology company founded by Mark L Fox, a former Space Shuttle chief engineer and best-selling author. His book The Memory Room was an Amazon #1 Bestselling Book and #1 Hot New Release, ranking #1 in Brain Diseases, Nursing Home Care and Medical eBooks (achieved July 2026). The Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Internship Opportunity Program is designed for young adults, particularly those living in underserved communities. Participants will gain hands-on experience in fields including technology, marketing, media, sustainability, business operations, and community services. Unlike unpaid internships that can be financially out of reach for many young people, these positions offer wages, flexible schedules, professional mentorship, and valuable career connections. Real Jobs. Real Pay. Real Experience Interns will work approximately 10 to 20 hours per week for up to six months, depending on the position. Each participant will work alongside an experienced supervisor, contribute to meaningful projects, and develop practical skills that can lead to future employment. The program offers several important benefits: Paid employment: Earn wages while gaining valuable professional experience. Flexible schedules: Work 10 to 20 hours per week, allowing time for school and other commitments. Professional mentorship: Receive guidance and feedback from experienced professionals. Career development: Build a resume, develop workplace skills, and establish professional connections. Local opportunities: Work with businesses and organizations throughout Santa Cruz County. All internships must conclude by June 1, 2027. Organizations offering internship opportunities include: Clean Oceans International Coastwoods Real Estate / Legacy Property GeoPulse Solutions Inc. KRML Mission Hill Creamery People First of Santa Cruz Sarah Marschall Strategy Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation Santa Cruz Children's Museum of Discovery Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center Treeswax United Way of Santa Cruz County Positions and responsibilities vary by organization, providing opportunities for students and young adults with different interests, skills, and career goals. Applicants do not need extensive professional experience. The program is intended to help young people develop the skills, confidence, and connections necessary to enter the workforce. There is no cost to apply. From Internship to Career The program builds on the success of its first cohort, which placed young adults with local businesses and nonprofits. Previous participants gained experience in software engineering, marketing, communications, video production, and community outreach. Yuliana Morales-Galvan, a software engineering intern at Nurbli, helped improve digital tools supporting Indigenous families. Emily Ramirez developed social media and outreach skills at Clean Oceans International, while Elsa Tamayo gained marketing and communications experience at Siena House. These experiences demonstrate how a paid internship can provide more than a paycheck. Interns build confidence, develop professional relationships, and gain experience that strengthens future job and college applications. How to Apply Young adults interested in exploring available positions are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. To view internships and apply: Visit Santa Cruz Works - Paid Internship Opportunities. Cabrillo College students may also complete the Student Interest Form linked on the program webpage. Parents, teachers, counselors, community organizations, and youth mentors are encouraged to share these opportunities with eligible young adults. Under the agreement, Temple will support its trading technology with tZERO Securities’ regulated operating infrastructure, including client onboarding and transaction services. This lets Temple bring tokenized securities trading to its clients without building its own broker-dealer and ATS capabilities. “Institutions building tokenized markets need a regulated operating foundation that can work with their technology and business model,” said Alan Konevsky, Chief Executive Officer of tZERO. “Temple has developed one of the most powerful trading systems on Canton. By bringing our broker-dealer and ATS capabilities to that system, we can help Temple deliver its offering to clients while expanding the reach of tZERO’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service footprint as we focus on powering broker-dealers and other financial institutions at scale.” Temple’s trading system includes a proprietary matching engine, an RFQ module and a central limit order book for tokenized National Market System (NMS) securities and exchange-traded products. It also includes a front-end user interface and settlement infrastructure designed to support atomic delivery-versus-payment and repurchase agreement settlement on Canton. Temple has executed over $1.6B in volume for Canton and is the largest platform by transaction volume on the network. “We’re focused on developing regulated, onchain trading technologies for tokenized assets,” said Evan Varsamis, Chief Executive Officer of Temple Digital Group. “Working with tZERO allows us to combine our solutions with an established broker-dealer and ATS operator, providing the regulated infrastructure needed to support securities on our platform at scale.” tZERO Securities, an SEC-registered broker-dealer and FINRA/SIPC member, will operate the dedicated platform. Implementation is pending; launch timing and product availability will be announced separately. Drawing on more than a decade of experience working with sales teams, Maverrik has identified ten recurring mistakes that can prevent businesses from turning LinkedIn activity into meaningful sales opportunities. From poorly structured prospecting processes and ineffective messaging to premature adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and sales automation, the findings highlight why simply increasing activity on LinkedIn does not necessarily translate into a stronger sales pipeline. Dean Seddon, Founder and CEO of Maverrik and a LinkedIn and social selling expert, explains that one of the most significant challenges is the assumption that traditional sales techniques will deliver the same results on social platforms. "Too many sales teams treat LinkedIn like another place to send cold emails. They invest in tools, increase their activity and then wonder why the pipeline isn't growing. The problem is often the process they've put around it." The 10 LinkedIn Prospecting Mistakes Sales Teams Need to Avoid Maverrik has highlighted ten areas where businesses frequently struggle to implement effective social selling strategies: Failing to adapt sales culture: Treating social selling like cold calling or email outreach rather than a relationship-led approach.Lack of leadership support: Introducing LinkedIn prospecting without securing buy-in from sales managers and senior decision-makers.No defined social selling process: Expecting salespeople to generate leads without a structured approach to connecting, engaging and converting prospects.Poor time management: Spending hours browsing LinkedIn without clear prospecting objectives or measurable outcomes.Ineffective lead management: Failing to track and nurture early-stage prospects through tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator.Weak LinkedIn profiles: Overlooking the importance of personal profiles in establishing credibility and communicating value to potential clients.Connecting with prospects too late: Waiting until a sales opportunity arises rather than building relevant professional networks in advance.Poor sales and marketing integration: Missing opportunities to coordinate content, LinkedIn events and prospect engagement across both departments.Introducing AI and automation prematurely: Automating LinkedIn outreach before establishing which prospecting activities generate meaningful results.Using ineffective LinkedIn messaging: Replicating traditional cold email sequences rather than adapting communications to the conversational nature of LinkedIn. According to Maverrik, one of the most common causes of underperforming LinkedIn prospecting programmes is the failure to recognise that social selling requires different behaviours from traditional outbound sales. While cold calling and email campaigns often prioritise immediate responses, successful social selling depends on developing familiarity, establishing relevance and building trust before introducing a sales conversation. Businesses that apply aggressive outreach techniques too early risk losing prospects who may otherwise have been receptive to a more considered approach. Maverrik recommends that organisations introduce a clearly defined social selling process, supported by leadership, practical training and measurable prospecting activities. Rather than focusing exclusively on the number of connection requests or messages sent, sales teams should evaluate whether their activity is progressing relevant prospects towards meaningful business conversations. AI and LinkedIn Automation Are Not a Substitute for Sales Strategy The growing adoption of AI-powered sales tools presents another challenge for businesses attempting to scale their LinkedIn lead generation activities. Although automation can improve efficiency, Maverrik warns that implementing these technologies before establishing an effective sales process can amplify existing problems. "AI can make a good social selling process more efficient, but it won't fix a poor one," explains Dean. "If you automate the wrong message or the wrong approach, you're simply scaling something that wasn't working in the first place. Sales teams need to understand how to generate conversations manually before looking at what technology can automate." Maverrik advises businesses to establish successful manual prospecting methods before introducing AI tools, automated messaging or additional sales technology. A More Strategic Approach to LinkedIn Lead Generation For organisations seeking to improve their B2B sales performance, Maverrik recommends greater alignment between sales and marketing teams, improved LinkedIn profile optimisation and more structured use of LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Creating relevant content, organising LinkedIn events and developing relationships with potential buyers before an immediate sales requirement arises can all contribute to a more effective prospecting strategy. Businesses should also ensure that salespeople understand how to move prospects through the different stages of social selling, from the initial connection and engagement through to a qualified conversation and potential sale. The central message, according to Maverrik, is that successful LinkedIn lead generation requires more than increased activity. It requires a repeatable process supported by the right training, leadership and tools. Users name a place or a genre in Featured's chat and get the stores that host author events, with a link to each store's website or events page and, where the store publishes one, its email. Type a request such as "Bookstores in Texas that host author signings" or "Mystery bookstores in California" and Featured returns the matching stores. Each result shows the store's name and location, a short description of its programming, a link to its website or events page, and an email address when the store publishes one. Users can then ask Featured to draft the pitch in the same chat. Find Bookstores is available on every Featured plan, including Free. Book publicists can plan the rest of the tour in the same place: Featured answers requests for bookstores and speaking opportunities in the same chat, and Find Podcasts covers the interviews around each stop. Independent bookstores are growing. The American Booksellers Association's 2025 annual report counted 605 new bookstore businesses opened in 2025, including 399 storefronts, against 65 closures, with openings up 87% from 2024. ABA membership reached 3,417 members operating 3,783 locations, nearly double the 1,775 members the association counted in 2016 and, according to the Associated Press, the highest since the late 1990s. For an author, each of those stores is a room and a crowd that chose to come. “When my book came out, I pitched Changing Hands in Tempe for a talk and signing,” said Brett Farmiloe, Founder and CEO of Featured. “What made it tough is that as a first-time author, I had no idea what I was doing when it came down to promoting my book. Featured simplifies that path, and connects authors with the stores that host events and can move product.” Of the 1,093 stores in Featured's database, 59.9% link to a public events or calendar page and 37.6% publish an email address for the store. The stores span all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 796 cities, and 36.6% describe author events, readings or signings in their own words. Find Bookstores runs inside the same Featured chat users already use to find Substack publications and TV stations. It is live now at featured.com. Free to start. No credit card. (SFLG), a California family law firm founded by Certified Family Law Specialist Debra R. Schoenberg, has opened a new office at 9665 Wilshire Blvd, M10, in Beverly Hills. The office marks the firm’s first permanent location in Southern California and gives Los Angeles County clients direct, local access to a firm that has handled complex divorce and custody cases for nearly 40 years. The Beverly Hills office will serve clients throughout Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, West Hollywood, and the greater Los Angeles area. Attorneys at the new location handle the full range of family law matters, including contested and uncontested divorce, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and post-judgment modifications. “The opening of our Beverly Hills office marks an exciting new chapter for our firm and expands our ability to serve families across California,” said Debra Schoenberg, Founder and Principal of Schoenberg Family Law Group. “For nearly four decades, we’ve guided clients through some of life’s most difficult transitions with compassion, thoughtful counsel and a strategic approach. We’re proud to extend that same personalized service to individuals and families in Southern California and throughout the state.” A Focus on High-Asset and Complex Family Law Cases High-asset divorces are common in Beverly Hills and the surrounding communities, and they often involve business interests, real estate portfolios, investment accounts, executive compensation, and entertainment-industry income such as residuals and royalties. SFLG’s attorneys work with forensic accountants and valuation experts to identify, value, and divide community and separate property under California law, and to uncover assets when a spouse fails to make full financial disclosure. The firm often resolves cases through negotiation and mediation, maintaining privacy in sensitive family and financial matters. If settlements fail, SFLG's trial attorneys litigate in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, including the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. SFLG aims for negotiated resolutions but prepares each case for trial to ensure clients negotiate from a position of strength. Led by a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist Debra R. Schoenberg is a Certified Family Law Specialist designated by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a Board-Certified Family Law Trial Specialist through the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. The Daily Journal has named her one of California’s Top Family Lawyers each year from 2022 through 2026. SFLG was voted the No. 1 Family Law Firm in California for six consecutive years, 2021 through 2026, in a statewide poll of judges, attorneys, and law firm administrators conducted by The Recorder. The San Francisco Business Times has also named the firm one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area. Together, the firm’s attorneys bring more than 400 years of collective family law experience. The first two products, Polarise Rise and Polarise Drive, give enterprises a secure way to use state-of-the-art AI – from a ready-to-use enterprise chatbot assistant to API access to leading open-weight models – without losing control over their data. From AI Factory to AI Cloud Polarise already operates own data centers (“AI Factories”) in Germany and Norway, including its Munich Tucherpark facility that was implemented in record time in collaboration with partners such as one of Europe's largest telecommunications companies. With the launch of its own AI Cloud, Polarise now covers the entire stack itself: data centers, NVIDIA accelerated computing, cloud software and the applications enterprises use every day. Each layer of it is eventually owned and operated by a European entity. Instead of building new data centers from scratch, Polarise converts existing buildings -properties that already have grid connections and permits - using its modular AI Pods: small, self-contained data centers that are installed and connected on site. This is how Polarise brought its Munich AI Hub from concept to operation in six months, where conventional projects take years. The Polarise AI Cloud therefore scales quickly with customer demand. A sovereign enterprise chat assistant for enterprises Polarise Rise is an AI chat assistant for companies. Employees can collaborate in workspaces to write, analyze and research, while company data stays within their own control, processed on Polarise infrastructure in Europe. Rise comes with three subscription models and is available to enterprises and teams starting today. Sovereign managed inference on open-weight models Polarise Drive lets developers and companies run leading open-weight models such as GLM 5.3, Kimi K3 or the latest NVIDIA Nemotron models through a single API, without managing any hardware. Polarise Drive is compatible with the OpenAI SDK, so existing applications can switch by changing one line of code. Customers pay per token, with transparent pricing and no idle capacity. Future features include an Agentic Engine - a platform for configuring and deploying custom AI agents - as well as MCP support for tool integration, and much more. Drive is in controlled rollout and accessible via application. Increso uses Polarise Drive for agentic customer service Italian customer experience company Increso is among the first customers running Polarise Drive in production. Increso builds AI agents that handle customer service for companies around the clock, combining its proprietary platform Inxide, process expertise and operational governance in a single partner. Its solutions serve more than 10,000 end customers every day. “Our clients expect AI agents that are fast, reliable and fully compliant with European data protection rules,” said Marco Modonesi, CTO at Increso. “With Polarise Drive, we run the latest Nemotron models for our agents on European infrastructure – without compromising on performance or on control over our clients’ data. That makes it much easier for us to bring agentic AI into customer service, including data-sensitive industries.” Sovereignty by structure – without compromise Polarise owns and operates its infrastructure from rack to API. Customer data never leaves the EU and is not exposed to the U.S. CLOUD Act. Polarise is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001. Attestations for BSI C5 and SOC 2 Type I and Type II are in preparation. “European companies want to use the best AI available, but they should not have to give up control over their data to do it,” said Michel Boutouil, CEO of Polarise. “We built our own AI Factories first. Now we are putting a sovereign cloud layer on top of them. Our customers get the full stack from one European provider – and they don’t pay a premium for sovereignty.” Built on the latest NVIDIA platforms The Polarise AI Cloud runs on NVIDIA Blackwell. For its cloud, Polarise relies primarily on high-performance servers from NVIDIA partner Kerno. Visitors to NVIDIA GTC Berlin can experience the Polarise AI Cloud live at booth 3016. *** About Polarise Founded in Germany, Polarise (https://polarise.eu/) is a European AI provider offering a fully integrated AI cloud from a single source. The company operates its own highly efficient data centers - known as “AI Factories” - at prime locations in Germany and Europe. Through its proprietary AI Cloud, Polarise provides companies and organizations with access to sovereign AI computing power, for example through its Sovereign Managed Inference platform “Drive”. The addition of TestoPrime to One Lavi represents another step in Wolfson Group's ongoing U.S. expansion strategy, which focuses on increasing consumer access to its portfolio through additional online retailers and brick-and-mortar distribution opportunities. TestoPrime serves the men's wellbeing category, with a focus on vitality, everyday performance and healthy ageing. The brand is part of Wolfson Group's broader portfolio of wellness products designed around different consumer lifestyles and priorities. Its new availability on OneLavi provides another online purchasing option while supporting Wolfson Group's strategy of expanding its distribution network across multiple retail channels. The company recently participated in the ECRM Vitamin, Weight Management & Sports Nutrition Session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where it presented its portfolio during scheduled meetings with U.S. retail industry participants. In the third quarter, sales grew +7% (CER) and +8% in CHF (+7% in USD), as exchange rates stabilised. Pharmaceuticals Division sales were +7% at CER, +2% when reported in CHF and +8% in USD, in the first nine months, due to continued high demand for medicines to treat severe diseases; Xolair (chronic hives, food allergies), Hemlibra (haemophilia A), Ocrevus (multiple sclerosis), Phesgo (breast cancer) and Vabysmo (severe eye diseases) were the top growth drivers. Diagnostics Division sales were +4% at CER, stable when reported in CHF and +6% in USD, in the first nine months, as demand for core lab and pathology solutions more than offset the impact of healthcare pricing reforms in China. Highlights: US approval for Tecentriq for the adjuvant treatment of stage-III DNA mismatch repair colon cancer, Gazyva/Gazyvaro for reducing the risk of relapse in patients 2 years of age and older with frequently relapsing or steroid-dependent childhood-onset idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and Enspryng in thyroid eye disease US Priority Reviews for fenebrutinib in both relapsing and primary progressive multiple sclerosis and Enspryng in MOGAD, an autoimmune disease; vamikibart filing acceptance in uveitic macular edema, a leading cause of vision loss EU approval for Susvimo in neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), a severe eye disease, and Ocrevus in paediatric relapsing multiple sclerosis; EMA validation of application for Enspryng in MOGAD in Europe Positive data for: sefaxersen in an autoimmune condition affecting kidney function (phase III), Lunsumio in blood cancer (phase III), Tam-Peli in relapsed small-cell lung cancer (phase III) as well as enicepatide and petrelintide in overweight or obesity and type 2 diabetes (both phase II) US clearance for Elecsys pTau217 test, providing clinicians across primary and specialty care with a single-biomarker blood test to aid in identifying amyloid pathology associated with Alzheimer’s disease Launch of two new, real-time PCR tests to support public health epidemic response to the US outbreak of the Cyclospora cayetanensis parasite Delivery of molecular tests to support the Democratic Republic of the Congo health ministry-led response to the Ebola outbreak Manufacturing and R&D capacity expansion: Hillsboro injectable medicines facility and Innovation Center Boston for cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases in the US and small molecules facility in Basel, Switzerland Outlook for 2026 confirmed Roche CEO Thomas Schinecker: “In the third quarter, we delivered strong sales growth of +7% at constant exchange rates and +8% in Swiss francs. Most importantly, we continued to make meaningful progress for patients. We advanced another five potential new medicines into the final stage of development this year and now aim to bring up to 20 new medicines to patients by 2030. The US FDA granted Priority Review for fenebrutinib in both relapsing and primary progressive multiple sclerosis, bringing us closer to delivering the first high-efficacy, brain-penetrant oral therapy to patients. Giredestrant is also under FDA Priority Review in both early-stage and advanced breast cancer, and we are fully prepared to launch later this year, pending approval. In Diagnostics, we received US FDA clearance for Elecsys pTau217, the first and only FDA-cleared single-biomarker blood test for Alzheimer’s disease that supports both rule-in and rule-out assessment of amyloid pathology across primary and specialty care settings.  We confirm our full-year outlook.” Outlook for 2026 Roche (SIX: RO, ROP; OTCQX: RHHBY) expects an increase in Group sales in the mid single digit range (CER) for 2026. The appreciation of the Swiss franc against most currencies, notably the US dollar, had a significant impact on the results reported in Swiss francs compared to constant exchange rates. This currency impact reversed in the third quarter. Sales growth in the Pharmaceuticals Division was +7% at CER, +2% when reported in CHF, to CHF 36.2 billion, with medicines for severe diseases continuing their strong growth. The top five growth drivers – Xolair, Hemlibra, Ocrevus, Phesgo and Vabysmo – achieved total sales of CHF 16.8 billion, an increase of +12% at CER, or +6% in CHF, compared to the first nine months of 2025. Sales of products with expired patents (Avastin, Herceptin, MabThera/Rituxan, Lucentis and Actemra/RoActemra) decreased by a combined CHF 0.4 billion at CER, or CHF 0.6 billion in CHF. In the United States, sales were +5% at CER, stable when reported in CHF, due to continued growth of Xolair, Hemlibra, Ocrevus, Polivy (blood cancer) and Tecentriq (cancer immunotherapy). This growth more than compensated for the lower sales of Kadcyla (breast cancer) and Perjeta (breast cancer). Sales in Europe were +2% at CER, stable when reported in CHF, as the growing demand for Ocrevus, Phesgo and Evrysdi (spinal muscular atrophy) more than offset the impact of biosimilar competition on Actemra/RoActemra and the conversion to Phesgo on Perjeta. In Japan, sales were +25% at CER, +10% when reported in CHF, mainly due to product supply to third parties and continued growth of Lunsumio (blood cancer), Hemlibra, Polivy, Elevidys (Duchenne muscular dystrophy) and Vabysmo. There was also a positive impact of timing effects related to the implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Sales in the International region were +10% at CER, +7% when reported in CHF, led by higher sales of Phesgo, Vabysmo, Hemlibra, Ocrevus and Evrysdi. In China, sales were stable at CER and when reported in CHF, driven by continued growth of Phesgo, Vabysmo, Alecensa and Polivy. The increase was partially offset by lower sales of Perjeta due to the conversion to Phesgo and Xofluza due to a milder flu season in 2025. The Diagnostics Division’s sales were +4% at CER, stable when reported in CHF, to CHF 10.3 billion as growth in demand for core lab and pathology solutions more than offset the impact of healthcare pricing reforms in China. Sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region were +3% at CER, unchanged when reported in CHF, driven by higher sales of clinical chemistry and immunodiagnostic products. In North America, sales were +9% at CER, +3% when reported in CHF, with growth across the Core Lab, Pathology Lab and Molecular Lab customer areas. Sales in Asia-Pacific were -4% at CER, or -8% when reported in CHF, due to the healthcare pricing reforms in China. In Latin America, sales growth was +12% at CER, or +11% when reported in CHF. Fenebrutinib became the first investigational medicine in more than a decade to slow disability progression in a phase III PPMS trial (FENtrepid), with numerical benefit vs Ocrevus. Fenebrutinib is designed to address two drivers of MS – acute inflammation causing relapses and chronic brain inflammation driving disability progression. If approved, fenebrutinib would become the first BTK inhibitor and first high-efficacy oral treatment for both RMS and PPMS, offering a new option for the nearly 1 million people living with MS in the US. The GitLab application is not written in PHP and does not run it to serve web requests, and our Security team has found no evidence of impact to GitLab-managed infrastructure. GitLab.com, GitLab Self-Managed, and GitLab Dedicated are not impacted. PHP is a widely used programming language that runs on web servers and powers popular platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and Magento, so a flaw in PHP itself can affect many websites and applications. On October 21, 2026, the PHP project fixed two critical remote code execution flaws in PHP, together known as PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619). PHP rates both 9.2 on CVSS v4.0. The flaws are in the PHP engine, not in any framework, library, or application code, so there is no application-level fix. Any web server that runs PHP is affected, including NGINX and Apache. The PHP project confirmed the vulnerability on Apache with mod_php, where an unauthenticated request can achieve remote code execution before any application code runs. Upgrade every server and container that runs PHP to serve web requests to PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36, or 8.2.35, or to your distribution’s patched package now. This guide is for security and platform teams with PHP projects on GitLab. It covers the fixed version for each PHP branch and distribution, how to use GitLab features to locate PHP projects across your groups, how to track remediation, and how to check for signs of compromise. Upgrade PHP to a fixed version now Upgrade the PHP runtime on every host and in every container image to a fixed version. Framework updates, Composer updates, input validation, and authentication don’t help, because PHP handles the request before application code runs. BranchFixed in PHP 8.5.x8.5.12 PHP 8.4.x8.4.27 PHP 8.3.x8.3.36 PHP 8.2.x8.2.35 (end of life December 31, 2026) PHP 8.6 release candidates8.6.0RC4. The official php:8.6-rc image was still on RC3 on October 21, and RC3 does not have the fix. PHP 8.1 and olderNo official release. PHP published minimal source backports for 7.4, 8.0, and 8.1, and some distributions ship patched packages. If your PHP comes from a distribution package, upgrade that package. Fixed package versions as of October 22: DistributionFixed package Ubuntu 26.04php8.5 8.5.4-0ubuntu1.5 Ubuntu 24.04php8.3 8.3.6-0ubuntu0.24.04.13 Ubuntu 22.04php8.1 8.1.2-1ubuntu2.28 Debian 13php8.4 8.4.27-1~deb13u1 Debian 12php8.2 8.2.35-1~deb12u1 Alpine 3.24php83 8.3.36, php84 8.4.27, php85 8.5.12 RHEL 10php 8.3.36-1.el10_2 (RHSA-2026:87070), php8.4 8.4.27-1.el10_2 (RHSA-2026:87071) RHEL 9php 8.0.30-8.el9_8.1 (RHSA-2026:87151), php:8.2 8.2.35-1 (RHSA-2026:87072), php:8.3 8.3.36-1 (RHSA-2026:87079); php:8.4 had no fix yet on October 22 RHEL 8php:7.4 7.4.33-8 (RHSA-2026:87080); check Red Hat’s CVE pages for php:8.2. Retired streams (7.2, 7.3, 8.0) get no fix Sources: Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine, and Red Hat security trackers, as of October 22, 2026. Ubuntu, and Red Hat for its 7.4 and 8.0 packages, keep the old upstream version number and backport the fix. Compare the package versions rather than php -v. Restart every process that runs PHP after upgrading. Rebuild your container images. If your image uses a floating tag of the official php image, such as php:8, php:8.3, php:8.3-apache or php:latest, rebuild it with docker build --pull and redeploy it. Images that pin a patch version, such as php:8.3.35-apache, need the tag changed to the fixed version first. Images built on derivatives such as wordpress or drupal get the fix only after their maintainers publish an updated image, so check the upstream image before you rebuild. Locate PHP projects across your GitLab groups Any project that runs PHP to serve web requests needs a fixed version, including the ones that are easy to forget, such as an internal dashboard, a marketing site, or a CI job image. Finding them takes two views: a static search of what your repositories declare and your images contain, and a runtime inventory of what actually runs. GitLab covers the static view with two features. Use both, in this order. 1. Container scanning Container scanning reports vulnerabilities in operating system packages, so it finds PHP installed with apt, apk, or dnf, and it reports the two CVEs once they reach the scanner’s vulnerability database. To turn it on for a project, add the template to .gitlab-ci.yml: include: - template: Security/Container-Scanning.gitlab-ci.yml You can also use a group-level scan execution policy to turn container scanning on for every project in a group at once. When a policy is enabled, the next time a pipeline is run, it will be run with container scanning. Container scanning results for the default branch can be reviewed in the Vulnerability Report after the scanner completes. Additionally, you can set up Merge Request Approval policies with container scanning. With merge request approvals in play, if a code change contains PHP2Shell, the policy will block a merge without approval from the selected parties. Container scanning detects only PHP installed as a package. PHP compiled from source, including the official php images, has no package record, so a project can pass container scanning and still run a vulnerable PHP. Code search covers that gap. 2. Code search Exact code search can find the two types of files that indicate a PHP project. Run these at the top-level group with regular expression mode enabled (the .* toggle at the right of the search box): Container base images: This query searches for every file GitLab detects as a Dockerfile. The pattern matches any image whose name or tag contains php, so it also finds derivatives such as wordpress, frankenphp, or bitnami/php-fpm. Expect a few false positives that you can rule out by reading the result: lang:Dockerfile ^FROM.*php Composer projects: This query finds projects that use PHP even when they have no Dockerfile, or when the Dockerfile takes its image from a build argument such as FROM $BASE_IMAGE: file:composer\.json$ Exact code search covers the default branch only. On GitLab.com it is on by default for paid plans. On GitLab Self-Managed instances an administrator must install Zoekt first. GitLab Dedicated doesn’t support exact code search. For each result, confirm the version. You can check the FROM php: line, or run php -v in the running container, and compare it with the table above. The group dependency list shows Composer packages and framework versions but not the PHP runtime version. 3. Compare with your runtime inventory Container scanning and code search show what your projects declare and build, not what runs. PHP can run outside your GitLab projects, for example on web servers with mod_php or PHP-FPM enabled only in their configuration, on hosts configured by hand, or in containers that still run in clusters without an active pipeline. Compare the static results with an inventory of your running workloads from your configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.), cloud, or VM inventory tools. For Kubernetes, operational container scanning scans the images that run in your clusters, with the same package-only detection as container scanning. Treat every PHP runtime that appears in only one of the two views as a gap to investigate. Remediate at scale with GitLab Duo Agent Platform Start with asking GitLab Duo Agentic Chat to: collect every container scanning finding for CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 across the group from the vulnerability report (requires an Ultimate subscription) run the code search queries above across the group, review each hit and read the PHP version from the Dockerfile or the Composer files open a merge request per affected project that bumps the base image tag or the package to the fixed version, and assign it to the right maintainer track the whole effort in an epic with one issue per project, and is closed when the fixed version is deployed and confirmed From each issue, the Developer Flow can open a merge request that updates the base image tag or package to a fixed version. Turn on automatic reviews with the Code Review Flow to get a first review that follows your custom review instructions. Review and merge each merge request, then close the issue once the fixed version is deployed. Searches find candidates, but a security or platform engineer still has to review each match, resolve CI includes, and tell what the code declares apart from what actually runs. An example agent skill from the GitLab Developer Advocacy team handles this work. It runs on GitLab Duo Agent Platform and with agents that use GitLab MCP server or the glab CLI, such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. The skill checks container images, CI jobs, OS packages, configuration management variables, Composer pins, and environments. It returns a cited findings table with deployment evidence, and open gaps. The skill is read-only: It makes no changes, and remediation merge requests remain a separate, reviewed step. It cannot confirm what is running on hosts it cannot access, so verify those directly. Adapt the skill to your own environment before you use it. Check for compromise Reports of exploitation differ. Security researchers reported an exploit attempt on October 17, 2026, before public disclosure, and further reports of exploitation followed the release. The PHP project identified no functional exploits at the time of release. If an internet-facing server ran a vulnerable PHP version, review its logs from October 17, 2026, onward for: Multipart requests followed by memory-limit errors or repeated HTTP 500 responses Unusually large or malformed PHPSESSID response cookies Unexplained PHP worker restarts, or shell processes started by PHP workers Unexpected files on the PHP web server, outbound connections from PHP workers, or unexpected cron entries A successful exploit can return HTTP 200 and leave the worker running, so an absence of errors doesn’t rule out compromise. If you find signs of exploitation, isolate the server and start an incident investigation. Where possible, capture memory, disk, and logs before patching and restarting. Restarting PHP workers may erase evidence. CVE-2026-109619 can also expose process memory, even when an attacker doesn’t achieve code execution. Rotate any credentials, tokens, or keys the PHP process could read. Note: Scanners may flag the Gemnasium dependency scanning image (gemnasium:6), deprecated since GitLab 17.9, for its bundled PHP. It is used only as a command-line tool and never handles HTTP requests, so it is not exploitable, and a fixed version has already shipped under the same tag. Timeline DateWhat happened August 1Calif discovers the first flaw during an AI-assisted PHP audit and reports it to PHP on August 11; Wiz Research independently finds and reports the flaws on August 24. The overhaul is available first on transoceanic Delta One routes departing Los Angeles International Airport — where Delta offers more premium seats and resides as the city’s number one airline — this fall and will expand across the full global network in 2027.  “Delta’s fully reimagined experience is rooted in solving real customer needs and desires, with intentionality behind every detail,” said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Chief Marketing and Product Officer. “Every investment we make is deliberate and designed to deliver the industry’s most premium end-to-end travel experience. This elevated dining and hospitality experience reflects our relentless focus on raising the bar while giving customers greater control throughout their journey.” Delta One: What's new Reimagined Delta One menu: A refreshed menu centered on elevated classics, featuring top-of-the line ingredients and additions like the new Delta One® Wagyu burger, regionally inspired Hong Kong-style Sea Bass and a Champagne Taittinger sorbet pairing. Delta welcomes Blanton’s: Customers can now enjoy one of bourbon’s most sought-after labels, a single-barrel bourbon renowned for its rarity and craftsmanship. Delta One wines: Developed with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and SkyMiles customers, the new program is designed to complement the reimagined dining experience, and includes Napa favorites, global labels, plus an expansion on our well-established Champagne Taittinger partnership. DASSAI 45 Sake joins select regional routes: The world-renowned Japanese sake brewer nestled in the mountains of Iwakuni, Japan joins Delta One on flights to and from Tokyo-Haneda (HND), delivering a refined and distinctly Japanese sake experience. Cocktails and mocktails: A curated cocktail and mocktail program featuring both alcoholic and non-alcoholic takes on two refreshing classics — the Hugo Spritz and the Paloma — joins the menu. Refreshed winter amenity kits and new Missoni Mini: The new Winter Elsewhere collection debuts alongside a new Missoni Mini pillow on transoceanic Delta One flights for enhanced comfort and rest. Delta x Bombas: Back by popular demand, the industry-leader in comfort will return to select domestic and international (outbound-U.S.) Delta One flights. An elevated onboard entertainment experience: Next-generation seatback screens and enhanced digital experiences make it easier for customers to discover content, stay connected and personalize their journey. Porsche: The deep-rooted partnership expands from 40 to 70 hybrid vehicles across 15 key airports and hubs by 2028.* Culinary overhaul: Timeless dining for the modern traveler  Delta’s in-house culinary team partnered with Chef Simon Hulstone and Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson to shape a culinary and beverage program rooted in craftsmanship, quality and consistency. Drawing on his experience leading a restaurant with a 20-year Michelin star legacy, Hulstone helped refine every ingredient, preparation method and service touchpoint to deliver elevated versions of familiar and memorable meals customers consistently identify as their favorites. To ensure regional meals bring local credibility and authentic inspiration, Delta also partnered with renowned Chefs Norio Ueno and Jereme Leung. Meticulous in their craft, each chef will continue to consult with the program to ensure Delta delivers consistent and recognizable meals customers from every region will enjoy.  From specialty cheeses and elevated dessert ingredients to thoughtfully sourced proteins and produce, every nuanced detail and offering was selected to enhance flavor, texture and consistency. Highlights include: Delta One® Wagyu beef burger with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and cornichons on a lightly toasted brioche bun — cooked and plated to ensure this highest-quality beef product consistently delights Roasted Sea Bass with tomato tarragon sauce, grilled asparagus and parsley mashed potatoes Regional twist: Grilled Salmon with ginger soy sauce, asparagus, eggplant and mushrooms flying [US – HND Delta One Feb. 2027]  Braised lamb entrée with red wine demi-glace, lyonnaise potatoes, grilled asparagus and wilted spinach  Beef short rib with red wine demi-glace, haricot vert, baby carrots, roasted shallot and potato gratin  Rich and creamy seasonally rotating risotto maintains texture at altitude and features wild mushrooms, parmesan cheese, roasted zucchini obliques and cherry tomatoes Macaroni and cheddar cheese topped with garlic breadcrumbs  A chicken Caesar salad entrée featuring crisp romaine, parsley, parmesan and Caesar dressing  Chicken salad croissant, hummus and crudité — each a new addition, offered as mid- flight meal Delta One iconic dessert cart preserves a beloved tradition and now features upgraded options and a generous amount of choice: The Classic sundae topped with a new signature chocolate sauce, Amarena premium preserved cherries and pecan praline crumble — garnished with a soft and airy doughnut A new dairy-free sorbet paired with (optional) Champagne Taittinger float adds a light, elegant and refreshing after-dinner option Napa Valley inspired fruit and cheese plate brings together flavors from Northern California and features Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt. Tam and Hop Along cheese, Cypress Grove’s Humbolt Fog cheese and Rustic Bakery’s Artisan Crisps Heritage-inspired tableware  A new collection of Delta One tableware — featuring the iconic Delta widget — balances elegance with operational precision. Developed through extensive research, prototyping and onboard testing, every piece was designed to elevate hospitality, enable personalized tableside service and create a refined backdrop for the culinary experience. Scale, shape, material, color and how pieces layer together all contribute to the overall impression — each subtle detail built to significantly enhance the meal. New Delta One serviceware Designed around you: More choice to travel your way  The refreshed Delta One experience gives customers greater control over how they dine and rest while traveling. Expanded pre-select options include lighter selections, such as protein-added salads, while customers on long-haul flights who prefer to maximize sleep can opt to skip the morning meal service and instead enjoy a coffee and croissant before landing.  Delta also gives customers more flexibility to plan, extending pre-select entrée ordering to 18 hours before departure — six hours closer to departure than before, making Delta the only U.S. carrier to offer a pre-order window this close to flight time.  “Luxury is about having the experience designed around you — today’s premium traveler values choice as much as quality,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, SVP – Brand Experience. “These enhancements offer greater flexibility, ensuring every Delta One customer can enjoy the journey in the way that suits them best.” Intentional touches In addition to the meal, a new ‘sip and settle’ moment — hot towel, warm nuts and a preferred beverage — is intentionally placed on the console, allowing customers to go about their pre-dining ritual(s) without interruption. Furthermore, a fresh cracked pepper service delivered during the first course and saucières holding side sauces to complement main proteins have been added to create greater flexibility without sacrificing the experience.  New, iconic beverage partners and refreshed amenities  Blanton’s — an iconic Kentucky Bourbon — on board Dec. 1  As the first and only airline to welcome Blanton’s, one of bourbon’s most coveted labels, Delta One is proud to serve this exceptional single-barrel bourbon, whose limited production and global demand have made it a prized favorite among both collectors and connoisseurs.  From the iconic horse-and-jockey stopper to its tradition of inspecting, filling, sealing and labeling every bottle by hand, Blanton's and Delta are deeply committed to preserving and celebrating heritage. Bottled at 93 proof, the single-barrel bourbon features powerful dry vanilla notes in harmony with hints of honey amid strong caramel and corn.  Napa icons, global classics take flight Delta is moving from four wine rotations each year to two, ensuring greater consistency for both customers and flight attendants. In partnership with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and loyal SkyMiles Members, 1,600 wines were curated into a final selection of 13 wines from 11 wineries featured on board between October 2026 and September 2027.  The new Delta One wine program was selected to complement the reimagined culinary experience and features iconic Napa wines, such as Silver Oak, retailing at over $200 per bottle. This, in addition to expanding the Champagne Taittinger partnership — now offered when flying in domestic Delta One — rounds out our most premium wine investment to date. Classic mocktails and cocktails  A curated cocktail and mocktail program — designed to meet growing demand for non-alcoholic beverages — features both alcoholic and non-alcoholic interpretations of two refreshing classics, the Hugo Spritz and the Paloma.  Building on the strong popularity of mocktails served in the Delta One Lounge, these thoughtfully crafted beverages bring that same elevated experience onboard and provide options for every customer. The beverages will be available on international routes in March 2027 and domestic routes in April 2027.  DASSAI Dassai, the renowned premium sake brewer from the mountains of Iwakuni, Japan, is joining Delta One starting Nov. 3 on all flights to and from Tokyo-Haneda. Brewed with Yamada Nishiki rice polished to 45 percent of its original size, Dassai 45 is known for its elegant, fruit-forward aroma and the gentle sweetness of the rice itself. It's a refined, distinctly Japanese sake that pairs beautifully with Chef Norio Ueno's regional dishes, adding an elevated touch to the experience when flying Delta One to Japan. Introducing new Missoni amenity kits: Winter Elsewhere collection Launching Nov. 3, Delta’s newest Delta One Missoni amenity kit brings the Winter Elsewhere collection to the skies with a nature-inspired design and a first-of-its-kind wrist strap created for use long after landing. Inside, customers will find a curated assortment of premium essentials, including exclusive Grown Alchemist skincare, a Marvis dental kit and Missoni-branded comfort items, thoughtfully selected to enhance hydration, relaxation and well-being throughout the journey. As sleep remains a defining priority for Delta One customers, Delta continues to raise the bar on onboard rest. Delta will also introduce a Missoni Mini pillow to replace the current cuddle pillow, which will expand to all transoceanic Delta One routes. Complementing the mattress pad, slippers and eye mask, the new pillow will deliver an even more restorative sleep experience in the sky. Next era Delta One amenities Delta x Bombas returns  This limited-edition onboard partnership combines Bombas' fan-favorite comfort innovations with Delta-inspired design details made for the journey. With plush cushioning, honeycomb arch support and stamped with the signature ‘Fly Delta Jets’ call, these socks were built to keep travelers comfortable from gate to destination. Customers flying on select routes may receive a complimentary pair, making this one of the most exclusive drops of the season. Hospitality: The defining ingredient While the menus, ingredients, partnerships and tableware are new, the experience is still grounded in what has always set Delta apart: its people. “Hospitality has always been Delta's greatest differentiator, and it starts with our people,” said Manion Taylor. “From the earliest concepts and through testing and implementation, our flight attendants and teams helped shape this experience with their expertise and insights, ensuring every detail works for our customers while reflecting the hospitality that sets Delta apart.” More than 200 Delta flight attendants and team members helped shape the experience over 14+ months, contributing 200+ unique submissions of feedback across four phases of testing and 36 dedicated trial flights. Their insights influenced everything from redesigned service elements, including tea service and sauce presentation, to the development of more than 60 new pieces of tableware. The result is a Delta One experience thoughtfully crafted for customers, by the people who bring it to life every day. Scaling Delta's premium strategy The next era of Delta One dining is the latest chapter in Delta's premium transformation. Across connectivity — with nearly 1,300 aircraft currently equipped with Delta Sync Wi-Fi, representing more than 95 percent of the fleet — a frictionless ground experience, lounges, personalized digital experiences, next-generation seatback screens, onboard products, partners and the most restful experience in the sky, Delta continues to set the standard for a more connected, seamless and elevated journey across its expansive global network. “No airline has invested more intentionally in redefining premium travel,” said Goswami. “From connectivity and personalized entertainment to dedicated security, Porsche tarmac transfers, next-generation aircraft and Delta One dining, every investment is part of a deliberate strategy to deliver the industry’s most consistent and elevated customer experience.” Together, these investments reflect Delta's unwavering commitment to continue leading the industry forward, raising the standard for premium travel. *Porsche service available to Delta One customers when booking VIP Select. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Lenovo Supports the 20th Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games as the Official Supplier of PC Equipment and Related Services and Solutions 2026-09-21 · Lenovo · Sports, Marketing & advertising, Software & IT, Consumer electronics https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/lenovo-supports-the-20th-asian-games-and-the-5th-asian-para-games-as-the-official-supplier-of-pc-equipment-and-related-services-and-solutions/ Through this sponsorship, Lenovo will contribute to building a robust digital environment that supports event organizers, media representatives, and fans, while helping advance digital transformation in the sports industry. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Target Names Mark Weinstein Chief Marketing and Guest Experience Officer 2026-09-14 · Target · Finance, Marketing & advertising https://corporate.target.com/press/release/2026/09/target-names-mark-weinstein-chief-marketing-and-guest-experience-officer Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) today announced that Mark Weinstein has joined the company as chief marketing and guest experience officer, effective immediately. All three divisions are on target, he noted. Bayer has also made decisive progress on its long-term strategic priorities, Anderson emphasized. The landmark US Supreme Court ruling in the Durnell case is one such example, he said, adding that it puts Bayer in a stronger position for the proposed class settlement agreement. “Overall, our containment strategy is in a strong place, with some important milestones ahead,” Anderson explained. Bayer is also advancing its other strategic priorities, Anderson said, pointing to progress in rejuvenating the Pharmaceuticals pipeline and executing the Five-Year Framework to improve profitability at Crop Science. In addition, Bayer’s lean, entrepreneurial operating model is driving efficiency gains across the entire Group, while also positioning the company well to effectively capitalize on the opportunities of artificial intelligence, he noted. “Over the past two and a half years, we’ve progressed in each of these areas. Each of them has demanded intense focus – and it’s imperative that we maintain that focus,” Anderson emphasized. “We’re concentrating on delivering our commitments and ensuring the best future for Bayer.” Dr. Judith Hartmann, who took over the CFO role in June, shared her perspective. “I am excited to be part of the team driving Bayer forward at such an important time in its journey. While we’ve delivered strong strategic and financial progress, including meaningful steps on our balance sheet, important opportunities remain ahead of us. Bayer benefits from a powerful innovation engine and growth prospects across all three businesses. Our financial priorities are clear: to further strengthen the balance sheet, enhance productivity and improve cash generation, while continuing to invest behind growth and creating sustainable value,” Hartmann said. Sales and EBITDA before special items up against prior year Group sales came in at 10.872 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026, up 2.2 percent on a currency- and portfolio-adjusted basis (Fx & portfolio adj.). There was a negative currency effect of 63 million euros (Q2 2025: 550 million euros). EBITDA before special items increased by 1.9 percent to 2.144 billion euros, and included a negative currency effect of 70 million euros (Q2 2025: 184 million euros). EBIT amounted to 827 million euros (Q2 2025: 13 million euros) after net special charges of 172 million euros (Q2 2025: 981 million euros) that were primarily attributable to litigation-related expenses. Net income came in at 219 million euros (Q2 2025: minus 199 million euros). Core earnings per share decreased by 16.7 percent to 0.95 euros, with the improvement in earnings in the Crop Science Division only partially offsetting a normalization in tax expense and lower earnings in the Reconciliation. Free cash flow amounted to minus 371 million euros (Q2 2025: 125 million euros), partly due to higher payments to resolve litigation. Net financial debt came in at 33.647 billion euros as of June 30, 2026, representing a 3.5 percent increase against March 31, 2026, and a 1.1 percent rise from a year-on-year perspective. Crop Science: Topline growth and efficiencies in cost of goods sold drive higher earnings In the agricultural business (Crop Science), sales increased by 3.5 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) to 4.910 billion euros. Business was up at Soybean Seed & Traits and Cotton Seed following the return of the dicamba label in the United States, with gains of 16.9 and 69.2 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.), respectively. By contrast, sales at Corn Seed & Traits were down 2.5 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.), with substantial gains in Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia/Pacific only partially offsetting lower volumes in North America, where business was impacted by volume phasing into the first quarter. In the Crop Protection business, growth was primarily driven by the division’s glyphosate-based herbicides. Sales of these products rose by 12.6 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) fueled by higher volumes and prices, especially in Europe/Middle East/Africa. The Insecticides business recorded a 15.9 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) increase in sales that was mainly attributable to higher volumes and prices in Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia/Pacific. EBITDA before special items at Crop Science advanced by 30.2 percent to 902 million euros. The increase in earnings was largely fueled by high-margin topline growth as well as a decline in the cost of goods sold that was driven by efficiency programs, as the division continues implementation of its Five-Year Framework. The EBITDA margin before special items increased by 3.9 percentage points to 18.4 percent. Pharmaceuticals: Continued growth momentum for Nubeqa™ and Kerendia™ Sales of prescription medicines (Pharmaceuticals) came in at 4.458 billion euros, in line with the prior year (Fx & portfolio adj. plus 0.8 percent). The division again registered significant gains for its cancer drug Nubeqa™, as well as for Kerendia™, its product for the treatment of chronic kidney disease and heart failure. Nubeqa™ sales advanced by 63.9 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.), mainly driven by volume growth in the United States and Europe, while the 82.9 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) rise in Kerendia™ sales was largely fueled by higher volumes in the United States and China. The Mirena™ product family also delivered very strong topline performance, especially in the United States, with global sales rising 9.0 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.). In the Radiology business, the division recorded gains of 26.8 and 8.1 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) for Ultravist™ and CT Fluid Delivery, respectively. Business benefited from higher volumes, while prices remained stable. By contrast, Xarelto™ and Eylea™ sales were down significantly, as anticipated. After encountering headwinds from patent expirations, the oral anticoagulant posted a decline of 42.4 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.), while business with the ophthalmology drug decreased 32.8 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.). The Eylea™ 8 mg formulation offering extended treatment intervals accounted for around 55 percent of overall Eylea™ sales. EBITDA before special items at Pharmaceuticals decreased by 3.6 percent to 1.055 billion euros. The decline in earnings was primarily attributable to the division channeling higher investments toward marketing its growth products Lynkuet™ (for the hormone-free treatment of menopause symptoms), Nubeqa™ and Kerendia™. In addition, the prior-year quarter had benefited from proceeds from the sale of non-core businesses. By contrast, earnings benefited from a reduction in allocations to provisions for the Group-wide short-term incentive (STI) program, as well as an inventory write-back. The EBITDA margin before special items decreased by 0.8 percentage points to 23.7 percent. Consumer Health sales up in almost all categories and regions Following a strong first quarter, sales of self-care products (Consumer Health) increased by 1.5 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) to 1.445 billion euros. Business was up in almost all categories, with Digestive Health delivering the strongest growth, at 9.4 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.). By contrast, sales in the Allergy & Cold category were down 8.0 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) due to soft seasonality. Regionally, the division continued to face headwinds from a weak market environment in the United States, while business was up year on year in Europe/Middle East/Africa, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. EBITDA before special items at Consumer Health decreased by 3.6 percent to 319 million euros. The decline in earnings was mainly due to an increase in the cost of goods sold and unfavorable product mix effects. These headwinds were only partially offset by the division’s continuous cost and price management efforts. The EBITDA margin before special items declined by 1.1 percentage points to 22.1 percent.   Group sales and earnings up in first half of the year In the first six months of 2026, Group sales rose by 3.3 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) to 24.277 billion euros. EBITDA before special items advanced 6.6 percent to 6.597 billion euros, while core earnings per share increased 3.4 percent to 3.66 euros. Currency-adjusted Group outlook confirmed Bayer has affirmed its currency-adjusted Group guidance for full-year 2026 for all metrics except net financial debt, which it now expects to come in lower than originally projected, at 29 to 30 billion euros (previous forecast: 32 to 33 billion euros). The revised guidance for this KPI reflects the already announced agreement with Apollo-managed funds and affiliates. They will obtain a minority, non-controlling stake in a newly established entity holding Bayer’s long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) business in exchange for a €3.0 billion capital contribution. In addition, applying the closing rates as of June 30, 2026, instead of March 31, 2026, results in the following changes: Group sales are now expected to come in at 44.7 to 46.7 billion euros (44.5 to 46.5 billion euros at previous closing rates), and core EPS at 4.20 to 4.70 euros (4.10 to 4.60 euros at previous closing rates). Commenting on the company’s strategic priorities, he explained that “we continue to advance our plan and we’re dialed in on delivering our commitments in the current year.” Group sales came in at 13.405 billion euros in the first quarter of 2026, up 4.1 percent on a currency- and portfolio-adjusted basis (Fx & portfolio adj.). There was a negative currency effect of 886 million euros (Q1 2025: 55 million euros). EBITDA before special items increased by 9.0 percent to 4.453 billion euros. This figure included a negative currency effect of 321 million euros (Q1 2025: 165 million euros). EBIT rose by 51.8 percent to 3.528 billion euros after net special gains of 324 million euros (Q1 2025: net special charges of 587 million euros) that mainly related to the sale of the global Avelox™ business for 250 million euros. Net income came in at 2.763 billion euros, and was therefore more than two times higher than a year earlier. Core earnings per share climbed 12.9 percent to 2.71 euros, largely driven by the increase in earnings at the Crop Science Division. However, growth was partially held back by a negative currency effect of 0.20 euros (Q1 2025: 0.13 euros). Free cash flow came in at minus 2.320 billion euros (Q1 2025: minus 1.528 billion euros). This was mainly attributable to payments to resolve legal proceedings, which increased as expected and largely related to the PCB and glyphosate litigations. Overall, these payments resulted in a net outflow of 2.002 billion euros (Q1 2025: 66 million euros). Net financial debt as of March 31, 2026, came in at 32.518 billion euros, up 9.0 percent from December 31, 2025, as a result of the negative free cash flow. Compared to March 31, 2025, however, net financial debt was down 5.1 percent. Crop Science posts gains in seed and traits In the agricultural business (Crop Science), sales increased by 6.8 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) to 7.558 billion euros. Growth was mainly driven by Soybean Seed & Traits, which saw sales double (Fx & portfolio adj.) largely due to the previously announced resolution of a licensing agreement with Corteva in North America, with this effect contributing the equivalent of 448 million euros to the topline. The Soybean Seed & Traits business also benefited from price recovery following the return of the dicamba label in the United States. In addition, the division posted a gain of 7.1 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) at Corn Seed & Traits that was fueled by higher volumes at the start of season in North America and growth across all other regions as well. By contrast, the crop protection business declined, as expected. At Herbicides, for example, sales were down 10.2 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) overall, with glyphosate-based products experiencing a 15.1 percent decline (Fx & portfolio adj.). In addition, sales at Fungicides decreased 10.7 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.). EBITDA before special items at Crop Science rose by 17.9 percent to 3.014 billion euros. Strong growth in the Soybean Seed & Traits and Corn Seed & Traits businesses, as well as a decrease in the cost of goods sold due to efficiency programs more than offset the negative currency effect of 277 million euros (Q1 2025: 26 million euros). The EBITDA margin before special items increased by 6.2 percentage points to 39.9 percent, in line with the strategic objectives of the Five-Year Framework announced in 2025. Pharmaceuticals records further significant gains for Nubeqa™ and Kerendia™ Sales of prescription medicines (Pharmaceuticals) came in at 4.249 billion euros, in line with the prior year (Fx & portfolio adj. minus 0.5 percent). The division again registered significant gains for Nubeqa™, the cancer drug, and Kerendia™, for the treatment of chronic kidney disease and heart failure. Nubeqa™ sales advanced 57.1 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) thanks to higher volumes in the United States and Europe, while Kerendia™ sales were up 84.2 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) due to volume growth in the United States and China. In addition, the division posted further gains in the Radiology business, which includes products such as Ultravist™ and CT Fluid Delivery, with growth driven by higher volumes. By contrast, sales of the oral anticoagulant Xarelto™ declined substantially as expected, falling 40.4 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) due to patent expirations, while business with the ophthalmology drug Eylea™ was down 20.5 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) as a result of competitive pressure from generics. The launch of Eylea™ 8 mg offering extended treatment intervals accounted for around 46 percent of overall Eylea™ sales. EBITDA before special items at Pharmaceuticals declined by 7.5 percent to 1.242 billion euros. The decline in earnings was largely due to an increase in selling expenses that primarily related to the marketing of Lynkuet™ (elinzanetant), Bayer’s non-hormonal treatment for menopause symptoms, as well as Nubeqa™ and Kerendia™. Furthermore, the division made higher investments in its R&D activities. In addition, earnings were diminished by price declines, which were mainly attributable to patent expirations and were only partially offset by higher volumes. There was also a negative currency effect of 77 million euros (Q1 2025: 48 million euros). By contrast, earnings benefited from an increase in income from the sale of non-core businesses as well as lower inventory write-offs. The EBITDA margin before special items declined by 0.3 percentage points to 29.2 percent. Consumer Health reports topline growth (Fx & portfolio adj.) driven by Nutritionals and Dermatology Sales of self-care products (Consumer Health) rose by 5.3 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.) to 1.491 billion euros. The division registered gains (Fx & portfolio adj.) in almost all categories and regions. Performance was driven by the Nutritionals and Dermatology categories, which saw sales rise 12.5 percent and 9.6 percent (Fx & portfolio adj.), respectively. Growth in the Nutritionals category was fueled by very strong performance in the Natsana e-commerce business, along with good topline results for Elevit™ that were partly driven by a product-line extension. The Dermatology category continued to benefit from substantial gains for Bepanthen™ in Europe/Middle East/Africa. However, the division continued to encounter a weak market environment in the United States, along with a soft cold season, that weighed on growth. EBITDA before special items at Consumer Health decreased by 1.5 percent to 337 million euros. Earnings were impacted by a negative currency effect of 31 million euros (Q1 2025: no material currency effects) and higher investments in marketing the division’s innovative products. These effects were largely offset by the increase in sales as well as a one-time gain from the sale of minor, non-strategic brands. The EBITDA margin before special items declined by 0.2 percentage points to 22.6 percent. Currency-adjusted guidance confirmed Commenting on the company’s expectations for the year, CFO Wolfgang Nickl said: “We reiterate our outlook at constant currencies for the full-year 2026, while continuing to monitor the geopolitical dynamics.” Bayer has also prepared its guidance based on closing-day rates. Applying the rates in effect on March 31, 2026, the company now expects sales to come in at 44.5 to 46.5 billion euros (previous forecast: 44 to 46 billion euros), EBITDA before special items at 9.4 to 9.9 billion euros (previous forecast: 9.1 to 9.6 billion euros) and core earnings per share at 4.10 to 4.60 euros (previous forecast: 4.00 to 4.50 euros), with the changes solely reflecting the impact of currency effects. “This is just a point-in-time analysis,” noted Nickl, adding that “we would still expect ongoing volatility around foreign exchange rate developments for the rest of this year.” Notes: The following tables contain the key data for the Bayer Group and its divisions for the first quarter of 2026.
