VARENNES, QUEBEC - October 21, 2026 - CHARBONE CORPORATION (TSXV: CH; OTCQB: CHHYF; FSE: K47) (“CHARBONE” or the “Company”), a vertically integrated industrial gases company focused on production, distribution and storage of clean ultra-high purity (“UHP”) hydrogen and other strategic industrial gases, announces the addition of an industrial gas cylinder filling unit at its Sorel-Tracy site.
This new activity aims to support revenue growth, broaden the commercial offering and develop the Company's customer base in Quebec and other Canadian regions.
Specifically, this unit will allow CHARBONE to fill hydrogen and helium cylinders directly from the onset at its Sorel-Tracy site, with the ability to expand to other industrial gases and specialized mixtures in the future. These cylinders, also known as gas cylinders, are used to store, transport, and supply the gases required for various customer applications. CHARBONE will thus directly manage this step in preparing the products for its customers.
This new activity represents a further step in the development of CHARBONE's integrated platform. It aims to expand the markets accessible to the Company and generate new revenue opportunities through an offering tailored to the needs of industrial, commercial, and institutional clients.
A new lever for business development
The filling unit will primarily serve the Quebec market, while also supporting CHARBONE's business development elsewhere in Canada. Target customers include private companies and distribution partners, including independent distributors. The offering will also address supply needs related to certain government contracts and the defense sector.
By adding cylinder filling to the activities of its Sorel-Tracy site, CHARBONE is internalizing a step previously sources externally, which is expected to support margin improvement and enhance control over product quality and delivery timelines. This enables the Company to expand the services offered to its customers, develop new business relationships and strengthen its position in industrial gases.
Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of CHARBONE, declares: “Our goal is to make Sorel-Tracy a growth engine for CHARBONE. By handling the filling of helium cylinders ourselves, and later industrial gases and specialty mixtures, we are expanding our offering and opening up new opportunities to grow our revenue with a diverse clientele. We are building a Canadian industrial gas group with the ambition of becoming a leading supplier for companies seeking to source their gases from a Canadian partner, reliably. Our priority is to develop lasting relationships with our customers and translate this business expansion into long-term value creation for our shareholders.”
Expanding Market Presence Across Quebec and CanadaThis initiative further develops CHARBONE beyond hydrogen production, expanding the activities and services offered within its industrial gas platform. Helium, in particular, represents a high-demand industrial gas with constrained supply, making direct cylinder filling a strategically important capability for CHARBONE’s customers across sectors like semiconductors, aerospace and defense, and advanced manufacturing. The Company intends to leverage this new unit to increase its presence in Quebec and develop business opportunities with Canadian buyers seeking a long-term supply partner.
CHARBONE to Present at the Emerging Growth Conference
The Company has been invited to present at the upcoming Emerging Growth Conference, a live, interactive online event giving individual and institutional investors, advisors, and analysts the opportunity to receive a brief recap of recent achievements and path forward from CHARBONE’s CFO and Corporate Secretary, Benoit Veilleux.

Hong Kong, Oct 21, 2026 - On October 15, 2026, Guotai Junan International Holdings Limited (“GTJAI”, stock code: 1788.HK), a subsidiary of Guotai Haitong Group, acted as the medium term note arranger and joint global coordinator to assist Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund, in successfully pricing RMB 3 billion of offshore RMB bonds across 3-year and 5-year tranches, with coupon rates of 2.15% and 2.30% respectively. The listing ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 16.
Against the backdrop of China and Kazakhstan continuing to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership, advance high-quality “Belt and Road” cooperation, and expand cross-border RMB investment and financing cooperation, this first dim sum bond issuance by Samruk-Kazyna marks the issuer’s return to the RMB bond market following its debut panda bond in April this year. It provides a positive demonstration for high-quality issuers in Central Asia to broaden their RMB financing channels and promote regional cross-border financial cooperation.
Transaction Highlights
Regional Breakthrough: Central Asia’s first offshore RMB bond issued by a sovereign wealth fund
Market Pioneer: The first landmark issuer across Central Asia, Central/Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa to establish a deep presence in both the onshore (panda bond) and offshore (dim sum bond) RMB bond markets
Company Milestone: Samruk-Kazyna’s first offshore RMB bond issuance
Leading the Project Execution, Demonstrating Cross-Border Financial Services Capabilities
In this transaction, GTJAI served as the medium term note arranger, joint global coordinator, documentation agent, roadshow coordinator and settlement agent, leading the coordination and advancement of the project throughout and assisting the issuer in completing key stages including transaction structure design, bookbuilding, pricing, listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and settlement and delivery. Leveraging its proven offshore bond execution experience and cross-border settlement capabilities, GTJAI provided full-process professional support to ensure the efficient and smooth completion of the issuance.
Prior to the transaction, GTJAI fully leveraged its combined advantages of cross-border capital market execution efficiency and broad international investor coverage to assist the issuer in conducting investor roadshows in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and London, meeting with more than 100 institutional investors in total and facilitating in-depth exchanges between the issuer and international investors, thereby providing strong support for the issuance.
Connecting Onshore and Offshore RMB Markets, Advancing China-Kazakhstan Financial Cooperation
Dim sum bonds are an important tool connecting international issuers with the RMB capital market. This issuance further enriches the supply of offshore RMB assets in Hong Kong and expands the use of RMB in international financing and investment. It represents an important move by GTJAI to fully leverage Hong Kong’s locational advantages and serve the diversified financing needs of enterprises in Belt and Road partner countries and regions, as well as a strong action to help Hong Kong consolidate its position as an international financial center and a global hub for offshore RMB business.
As a key overseas platform of Guotai Haitong, GTJAI has long been deeply engaged in the international debt capital markets. Leveraging extensive cross-border bond underwriting experience and a global investor network, it provides domestic and overseas issuers with comprehensive, high-quality capital market services. Looking ahead, GTJAI will continue to deepen cooperation with all parties in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian market, better serving the advancement of high-level opening-up and high-quality “Belt and Road” cooperation.

Personnel welfare is a critical pillar of military effectiveness, directly influencing morale, resilience and operational readiness. Recognising that a mission-ready force depends on the well-being of its personnel and their families, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) continues to strengthen welfare support systems through accessible, efficient and responsive services.
In a significant step towards enhancing welfare service delivery, KDF launched a Claims Management System and inaugurated a Regional Welfare Centre Office at Gilgil Garrison, aimed at streamlining compensation claims, improving administrative efficiency and bringing essential services closer to personnel and their families.
The event was attended by Gilgil Garrison Commander, Brigadier Edward Nyamao, and Chief of Compensation and Welfare at Defence Headquarters, Brigadier Rodah Mwasigwa, alongside senior officers, officers and service personnel.
Speaking during the launch, Brigadier Nyamao emphasised the importance of identifying and training designated welfare personnel within units to ensure effective implementation of the new system. He urged commanders and administrators to uphold confidentiality, accountability and timely resolution of welfare concerns.
Brigadier Mwasigwa underscored the strategic importance of personnel welfare in sustaining morale, strengthening operational effectiveness and enhancing force readiness. She noted that decentralising welfare services would improve accessibility, reduce delays in compensation claims and provide timely support to serving personnel, veterans and their families.
The event also featured a welfare sensitisation session, providing personnel with information on available services and an opportunity to engage directly with welfare representatives on procedures for accessing support.
The newly established office will serve personnel within Western Command, strengthening communication, records management and claims processing while ensuring more responsive welfare administration.
The initiative forms part of a broader KDF programme to establish welfare offices across 23 regions, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to personnel-centred service delivery.
By investing in the welfare and dignity of its personnel, veterans and families, KDF is strengthening the human foundation of military effectiveness, fostering a motivated, resilient and mission-ready force capable of safeguarding national security.
