Novomins puts women’s health in the driver’s seat with first-ever OOH campaign

Friday 23 October, 2026 The nutrition brand has taken its women’s health message onto the streets of London with a taxi activation featuring ambassador Vicky Pattison, creating space for conversations about issues women too often feel go unheard. Novomins has made its first move into out-of-home (OOH) advertising with Put Women’s Health in the Driver’s Seat, a London taxi activation designed to put women’s health in the spotlight. On Wednesday 21 October, North-East personality and Novomins women’s health ambassador Vicky Pattison took to central London in a fully branded Novomins taxi, offering women free rides and opening up conversations about the health concerns that affect them. The activation focused on issues women may find difficult to discuss, or feel have been dismissed as ‘normal’. By taking these conversations into everyday public spaces, Novomins aimed to give women the opportunity to speak openly about their experiences and feel heard. The taxi featured Novomins’ distinctive pink branding, product imagery and the message, “Whatever your health goals, we have a gummy for it!”. While the creative brought the brand into view across London, the campaign’s central purpose was to encourage more open conversations about women’s health. Valerie Stark McQuillan, Formulator, Neuroscientist and Chief Marketing Officer at Novomins, said: “Too many women are still being told their symptoms are ‘normal’, or waiting years for a diagnosis, simply because no one stopped to really listen. ‘Put Women’s Health in the Driver’s Seat’ is about changing that. Vicky brings honesty and warmth to every conversation, and by giving women a lift across London, we’re giving them space to talk about the things that bother them, the things that get brushed aside, and the things they’ve never felt able to say out loud. At Novomins, women’s health isn’t a side project; it’s a serious focus. As a formulator and neuroscientist, I know how much daily nutrition can matter, which is why together with our in-house team of experts I created a dedicated range of gummy vitamins for women. Whether a woman is looking after her urinary health, supporting herself through her monthly cycle, or caring for her intimate balance, we want to be part of that everyday support. But this campaign is about more than products. We’re here to educate, to listen and to give women a voice.” The campaign marks Novomins’ first-ever OOH brief, with Loud! OOH appointed to bring the activation to life. It shows how outdoor advertising can create a physical platform for conversations that deserve greater attention, rather than simply putting a brand in front of an audience. The release follows the news that Loud! OOH has been shortlisted for ‘New Agency to Watch’ at the Prolific North Marketing Awards 2026, a milestone for the independent advertising agency as it continues to build its presence in the UK out-of-home market. Through the activation, Novomins has used its OOH debut to take its women’s health message directly to the streets, with a clear commitment to listening, education and giving women a voice. For brands looking to explore taxi advertising as part of their own campaigns, Loud! OOH has put together a guide to taxi advertising in the UK, covering formats, costs and opportunities.

Study Finds Lower Rates of Overweight Among Vegan-Fed Cats

LONDON, Oct 23, 2026 - A large-scale survey published in Frontiers in Animal Science has found cats fed vegan diets had lower rates of obesity and related health problems, than those fed conventional meat-based diets. An online survey analysed carer-reported veterinary assessments of 1,305 cats fed either conventional meat-based (90%) or vegan (10%) diets for at least one year. After accounting for factors including age, sex, neuter status, activity and feeding practices, vegan-fed cats had 34% lower odds of being assessed as overweight. However, the difference was not statistically significant, in part reflecting the relatively small number of vegan-fed cats. For several body weight-related problems, no vegan-fed cats were affected. Nevertheless, researchers say the findings show an interesting trend that warrants further investigation. Overweight and obesity are common in domestic cats, with veterinary studies estimating that around 30-60% of cats are overweight or obese. Excess weight is associated with a range of health problems, including arthritis, diabetes, urinary tract disease and reduced quality of life. Study leader Andrew Knight, Adjunct Professor at Australia's Murdoch University School of Veterinary Medicine, said the findings, while not conclusive, showed interesting trends. "Carers feeding cats vegan diets also reported lower rates of body weight-related disorders such as osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal and mobility problems. However, the relatively small number of vegan-fed cats mean these results cannot be considered conclusive." "Interestingly, most vegan-fed cats were eating predominantly dry food and were more likely to have food available throughout the day. These are feeding patterns normally associated with increased overweight risk. Yet we still observed lower rates of overweight in this group." The study noted that diet is not the only determinant of a cat's weight. Other factors consistently associated with overweight risk include age, sex, neuter status, activity levels and feeding practices. Why vegan-fed cats showed lower rates of overweight is uncertain. While the study didn't analyse the foods themselves, some commercial vegan cat foods may be higher in fibre and lower in calories or fat than comparable meat-based foods, which could help with weight control. Differences in L-carnitine, a nutrient involved in energy metabolism and maintaining lean body tissue, could also potentially also play a role. Professor Knight said the findings should be seen as a starting point. "We can't conclude from this study that vegan diets definitely protect cats against becoming overweight, but we have found a consistent pattern that is worth further investigation. An ideal next step would be a larger, prospective study that directly measured what cats are eating, their energy intake and their body condition." "Additionally, cat carers should always ensure their cats receive nutritionally complete diets, choosing commercial vegan foods that are appropriately supplemented to provide all essential nutrients."
