South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) 2026 to Put South Sudan Transmission, Distribution Drive in Focus

The World Bank-funded South Sudan Energy Sector Access and Institutional Strengthening Project (ASSIST) is advancing grid expansion in Juba, opening new opportunities for contractors, equipment suppliers and technology providers as South Sudan works to expand electricity access. The $53 million program includes a $16.8 million international procurement package for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of grid densification and extension infrastructure in Juba. The investment is designed to connect additional residential, commercial and industrial consumers while strengthening the capital’s distribution network. The project forms part of a wider power infrastructure pipeline taking shape across South Sudan, including domestic distribution upgrades and a planned 400-kV interconnection with Uganda. These opportunities will be in focus at South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) 2026, taking place November 24–25 in Juba, connecting government, utilities, financiers, project developers and technology providers as the country seeks investment across its transmission and distribution network. South Sudan is simultaneously advancing cross-border electricity infrastructure designed to strengthen regional power trade and increase access to additional generation capacity. In September 2026, implementation of the South Sudan–Uganda Power Interconnection Project commenced following the approval of $121 million from the African Development Fund for the Ugandan component. The regional project involves the development of a 400-kV transmission connection between Olwiyo in Uganda and Juba, creating opportunities across medium- and low-voltage networks, transformers, substations, electrical equipment, engineering, construction and grid-management technologies. The African Development Fund approved $153.66 million in financing for the project in 2025, including $33.66 million for South Sudan. Once operational, the interconnection is expected to enable an average annual exchange of 624 GWh of electricity between the two countries and improve electricity access for approximately 286,710 people in South Sudan. South Sudan is also advancing investment in its domestic distribution network. In May 2026, the African Development Bank reported supplementary financing of approximately UA10.61 million for the Juba Distribution System Rehabilitation and Expansion Project. The project includes the installation of approximately 357 km of low-voltage lines and 201 transformer stations, alongside efforts to integrate the South Sudanese grid with Ethiopian generating capacity. Up to 20,000 new consumers are expected to benefit from the expansion. Together, these projects demonstrate the scale of infrastructure and funding required to support South Sudan’s electricity expansion ambitions. Against this backdrop, the upcoming SSOP 2026 conference will provide a platform for investors, financiers, regulators, utilities, project developers and technology providers to engage on the country’s evolving power infrastructure pipeline. The event will feature high-level panel discussions, project showcases and exclusive networking sessions exploring opportunities for South Sudan to mobilize capital, strengthen regional power cooperation and accelerate transmission and distribution development. To register for SSOP 2026 in Juba on November 24–25, visit: https://SouthSudanOilPower.com/ Distributed by APO Group on behalf of Energy Capital & Power.

Vadzo Imaging Positions Bolt-521CRS: Onsemi AR0521 Color 5MP Low-Noise MIPI Camera with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin for Medical and Life Science Imaging

The Bolt-521CRS is a 5MP Low-Noise MIPI Camera built on the Onsemi AR0521 sensor, and Vadzo is positioning it with NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin for medical and life science imaging. Medical and laboratory instruments image small, dim, and often strobe lit subjects, and they depend on clean color and consistent exposure. The Bolt-521CRS pairs large 2.2 micron pixels with an on board ISP, so the frame arrives with low noise and finished color. Its sensor also supports Global Reset Release, a mode that starts exposure on every row at the same moment, which lets a rolling shutter sensor work with a flash or a controlled light source and avoids much of the usual skew. The module supports NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, Orin NX, and AGX Orin through 2 lane and 4 lane adapter boards. Designed for instrument makers building microscopes, ophthalmic and intraoral devices, and laboratory systems, this 5MP Jetson AGX Orin MIPI Camera and 5MP GRR MIPI Camera supplies clean, correctly colored images to the Jetson platform of their choice.

France's Debt Crisis Sparks Nationwide Protests Amid Eurozone Instability

Fredericksburg, TX Friday Oct 23, 2026 @ 10:25 PM Central — Episode 1913 of the No Agenda Show, titled 'Meat Muck' and published October 18, 2026, finds host Adam Curry broadcasting from the Texas Hill Country alongside guest co-host Rob Dew, dubbed Sir Deucifer. Recorded the morning after the fifth annual Fredericksburg meetup, the episode tackles a packed slate of global unrest and domestic strangeness, from burning French city halls to Elon Musk's hopping Roadster. With John C. Dvorak's absence still shaping the program, Curry and Dew deliver the trademark media deconstruction that has defined the show for 19 years. The two-hosts spend the opening segment on the escalating protests across France, where interior minister Laurent Nunez reported crowds swelling to 800,000 and Marine Le Pen's poll numbers continue climbing against a backdrop of debt projected near 120% of GDP. Threads explored include: How protesters are coordinating via Bluetooth mesh apps like BitChat after internet shutdowns AfD leader Alice Weidel's call to end German financing of 'an already lost war' in Ukraine Queen Ursula von der Leyen's new 70 billion euro Ukraine funding gap for 2027 The Nord Stream sabotage trial of Ukrainian suspect Sergei Kuznetsov in Hamburg Curry questions why the International Criminal Court has stayed silent on the Nord Stream prosecution, while Dew notes the political convenience of keeping the accused agent from speaking. The hosts replay a Christopher Hitchens clip framing the broader civilizational stakes: They are not just joking. They really mean to abolish everything you care about, and they want to take away everything you love and to destroy everything you have and to replace it with a Stone Age ideology derived from the desert of Palestine in a very bad time in human history. The segment pivots to a Tom Luongo thesis that European elites are deliberately bankrupting the bloc to roll out the digital euro. Elsewhere, the episode unpacks an AI-driven study flagging roughly 261,000 potentially fabricated cancer research papers, with 36% traced to Chinese institutions and 20% to Iran. Dew brings a deep dive on Turin, Italy, its black magic triangle, ley lines to London and San Francisco, and the 1879 Lucifer statue atop the Frejus tunnel monument. Curry breaks down CoreWeave's 2032 bonds trading at distressed 15% yields, warning the AI buildout could trigger a broader bond market crack. Other threads: Tesla's thruster-equipped Roadster demo, Press Secretary Katie Zachariah's five-day White House tenure, Jalen Hurts' blood clot diagnosis, and viral video evidence that Arby's roast beef now arrives as a bagged paste. About No Agenda Show No Agenda is a long-running, listener-supported podcast hosted by Adam Curry and John C. Dvorak that takes a skeptical, independent look at mainstream media, politics, culture, and the forces shaping the daily news cycle. Known for its sharp commentary, humor, and media deconstruction approach, the show offers an irreverent alternative to conventional news analysis. Episode 1913 is available now wherever podcasts are heard.
