Young digital creators from across the North Rift converged in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, for The Creator Journey, a transformative initiative designed to equip creators with the skills, networks and opportunities needed to thrive in Kenya's rapidly growing digital economy.
Held under the theme "Create. Learn. Earn.", the event brought together aspiring and established creators, industry experts, government representatives, regulators, mobile network operators and digital platforms for a day of learning, collaboration and engagement on the future of the creator economy.
Hosted in partnership with Elgeyo Marakwet County Goverment and Make It Count Digital, the summit shifted the spotlight directly onto local creative talent. Industry leaders and successful creators shared practical insights on content creation, personal branding, audience growth and monetization, demonstrating how creativity can be transformed into sustainable livelihoods.
Emphasizing the role of digital infrastructure in unlocking opportunities for the creative economy, Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy John Tanui noted that access to digital opportunities should not be determined by geography. "A creator in Iten should be able to earn from the same platforms as a creator in Nairobi, and that depends on connectivity reaching rural Kenya," he said.
Discussions highlighted the growing role of digital platforms in creating new opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship, particularly among young people.
A key highlight was the Wayleave Conversation, which brought together government agencies, regulators, mobile network operators and digital platforms to explore coordinated approvals and infrastructure sharing as a means of accelerating connectivity and extending quality networks to underserved areas.
As The Creator Journey continues to reach communities across the country, it aims to help build a new generation of digital entrepreneurs equipped to create, learn and earn in an increasingly connected world.

Telecom Acquisitions Group (TAL), the Horsham-based holding company behind several retail broadband brands, has begun onboarding 13,500 TalkTalk broadband customers to its Fleur Telecom ISP business.
The customers have been with TalkTalk for many years, receiving services over traditional copper lines and ADSL technology, now reaching the end of its lifecycle.
Fleur Telecom will upgrade customers to fibre using the same proven approach it has successfully applied over the past year, with a clear focus on continuity and service quality for the move to the new network environment.
“TalkTalk is one of the largest wholesale suppliers to the UK broadband industry, with equipment in around 2,900 BT exchanges,” commented TAL CEO Nigel Barnett.
“It offers one of the most extensive networks in the UK alongside its new owner, BT Group, making it a natural wholesale partner for new residential broadband providers. As in any industry, not every new provider succeeds; some choose to change direction. That’s where TAL steps in. Because the transfer between TalkTalk and TAL is simply a seamless internal account change, customers experience no loss of service.
“These customers will move to our Fleur Telecom brand. Their existing telephone numbers and email addresses will be retained, and all current terms and conditions will remain in place. In most cases, customer payment arrangements will also stay the same,” Barnett added.
TAL has worked in this way with other network operators over the years, including CityFibre, Cable & Wireless (now Vodafone), MS3 and Full Fibre.
Onboarding of all 13,500 TalkTalk customers commenced on 1 September 2026. Following the transfer, customers will be supported 24/7 by TAL’s UK-based service centre, which also looks after its established Home Telecom and Elite Telecom brands. In addition, every customer will have access to a mobile app to help them manage their account.
ABOUT TAL
TAL offers services from all the traditional network suppliers alongside Layer 2 and Layer 3 connections with the majority of UK altnets. The group has now grown to more than 80,000 customers, with projected turnover of around £36 million in 2027. The company plans to continue this growth through organic expansion and further acquisitions as opportunities arise.
ABOUT TALKTALK
Founded in 2003 as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, TalkTalk demerged in 2010 and was taken private in 2021 by Toscafund Asset Management. The organisation offers Full Fibre broadband (speeds up to 900 Mbps), landline phones, and TV add-ons, along with its wholesale connectivity business PlatformX Communications (PXC). BT Group acquired TalkTalk and PXC this month in a £400 million rescue deal to protect 2.5 million residential, business, and wholesale customers.

Total Office Solutions, LLP, a strategic turnkey partner in navigating multifaceted logistics and corporate relocation services, is returning as a sponsor for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s 2026 Arlington-Dallas Toys for Tots campaign. This marks the third consecutive year the firm has supported this worthy cause through transportation, logistics, material support, and more than 25,000 square feet of dedicated warehouse space to collect, store, and distribute donated toys.
In addition to Total Office Solutions, AT&T, the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, KDFW FOX 4 News, and the Jordan Kahn Music Company will also be lending their support as returning sponsors.
“On behalf of our entire team of transportation and logistics specialists, we’re proud to support the Arlington-Dallas Toys for Tots program for the third consecutive year,” stated Megan Monette-McDaniel, vice-president of global accounts at Move Solutions, Ltd., an entity of Total Office Solutions, LLP. “With families in our communities struggling with increased costs and tighter household budgets, it’s more important than ever to ensure every child in North Texas has toys to unwrap this holiday season.”
The 2026 Arlington-Dallas Toys for Tots Campaign officially kicked things off on Oct. 15 at the city’s Levitt Pavilion, where longtime coordinator Watson Robinson, Jr. provided information on several upcoming events with attendees. Donations of new, unwrapped toys, appropriate for children up to age 12, can be dropped off at Total Office Solutions showroom located at 2201 Chemsearch Blvd., Irving, TX, 75062, or any of the other 7,500 drop box locations that have been strategically placed throughout North Texas. For a complete list of participating businesses and drop-off locations for Toys for Tots donations, please follow this link.
In addition to the campaign kickoff in October, Total Office Solutions will be participating in the Arlington Veterans Day Parade, set to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the Arlington Entertainment District. Total Office Solutions’ office-moving division, Move Solutions, Ltd., plans to have two specially wrapped Toys for Tots-themed office moving trucks in the parade that will also double as collection points for unwrapped toy donations. The parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. in the Arlington Entertainment District.
“On behalf of the 2026 Arlington-Dallas Toys for Tots Campaign, we’re very thankful for our sponsors who have pledged their support to help with our toy donation efforts this holiday season,” said longtime coordinator Watson Robinson, Jr. “Without their generous assistance, we couldn’t make these Christmas miracles happen. Throughout my 28 years of service in the U.S. Marines, I’ve learned that nothing is more rewarding than serving others, especially those who are less fortunate. With the support from individuals throughout North Texas, I am hopeful we will have enough gifts for all the families and children in need who live in our local communities.”
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys from October to December, and distribute donated toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in communities nationwide.
